Last but not least of this batch of Keeper of the Lost Cities Portraits we have Keefe!

He is a light-hearted jokester, but those jokes are often used to distract from some of the darker turmoil going on in the story and in his own past and circumstances. He has the power to read emotions, and he is actually the main focus of the upcoming book. I'm looking forward to reading it when it comes out.

Not only is the last portrait to be revealed, but it is also the last one I completed. I was a bit worried that there would be a lot of iterations required for this later in the process, but I think by this last portrait, I finally had a better grasp on the look and style that the author and publisher wanted so that they were satisfied without too many changes once the portrait was rendered!

It's fascinating to watch the fandom's reactions to these portraits, especially with such a young audience for these books. Everyone has their own vision for what characters look like, and while the author and I can iterate back and forth to get as close as we can to how they are described in the book, it's impossible to match every reader's unique vision. But it is still fun to try!

Anyhoo, I know this series of portraits has been A LOT of extra posts over the past few weeks!

I hope you guys have enjoyed them as fun extras with a little bit of insight into how it has been working on them. I've been excited to share them!

I'll assemble more timelapse videos of the last four portraits to share with you in the coming weeks. Some of the changes that happen in them are WILD!
