Friday Art Preview - 8/25/23

Hey, it's Friday! For this week I want to share some cards from The Last Lighthouse. Let's Check them out!

Lets start with the lighthouse. This game was illustrated by Anastasia Khmelevska, the artist for I Guess This Is It and Forest Sky. We love working with Anastasia and knew she would be perfect for this project. A while back I shared the illustration above for this card, but here it is with all the gameplay elements added. We did some color adjustment to make it a little more saturated as well as adding some texture... because we always add texture to our cards!

This is the nightmare card. As a player it is your job to prevent the nightmare from consuming the lighthouse. We thought that tentacles would be the perfect nightmare to consume the lighthouse.

And here is a nightmare card. We asked Anastasia to illustrate a bunch of nightmares for us. These nightmares did not need to be nautical in theme so she come up with some really creepy imagery! One of the challenges we faced was that we wanted the nightmares to be dark in appearance, but remember, dark colors do not print very well! So we came up with a lighter take on the nightmares but they still have that dark tone to them. It was a tough balance to find, but we are really happy with the result!
