River Wild & Ancient Realm are on Kickstarter today! Here’s how to pledge for the campaign.

This is an early reminder (sorry - Michelle was a bit excited and hit publish too early!) The campaign will launch at 8:30AM EST. A short update will be posted when it's live.

This campaign is a little unusual for Button Shy, as we’re offering two very different games but both by the same designer: Steven Aramini. We’ve worked with Steven before as part of the team behind two of our most popular titles, Sprawlopolis and Circle The Wagons, and we’re always impressed by his clever takes on themes and mechanics. So when he came to us with these titles, we couldn’t say no. These two solo-only games showcase Steven’s knack for creating intriguing, unique puzzles using thoughtful card placement and layered scoring.

Here's how to pledge at Kickstarter as a member

For this campaign we will be using Gamefound’s Pledge Manager. We hope this makes it easier to support the campaign as you do not need to calculate how much to pledge at Kickstarter. Shipping will be collected in the Pledge Manager, and your club discount will be added as a credit using your name and Patreon email address.

Pledge just $1 at Kickstarter to support the Board Game of the Month Club Members reward. There’s no need to add any bonus support for the games, but you can if you wish so you pay for the reward now and shipping later. Choose any add-on content you wish to include with your pledge, and you’re all set.

The amount pledged at Kickstarter will be transferred to the Pledge Manager and you will be able to finalize the content of your reward there, making an additional payment for content and shipping if required.

When the Pledge Manager opens, if you do not see the credit, we will be able to update it manually; this will most likely happen if your Kickstarter name and email address is different to your Patreon name and email address. We will let you know what to do if this happens when the Pledge Manager opens.

Every year in the realm of Wild, the first snow of the season brings new life to the land and the creatures who inhabit it. High atop the tallest peaks, the sun beats down on this fallen snow, creating a magical rushing river that floods the valleys below.

River Wild is a game of creating the most harmonious landscape. Each turn, you must play a card to extend your river, building a path for your river to flow while simultaneously creating cloistered valleys populated by unusual creatures. Match wildlife with scoring goals in the valleys to get the most points possible!

The Wildscapes expansion is included with all pledges for River Wild.

The land of Wild is full of surprises–new shores to explore, new relics to unearth, and new wonders to discover. With the Wildscapes expansion, you will unlock a new card each time you create a protected valley. How far will your river flow?

This 6-card expansion adds new locations which can drastically reshape your landscape. These cards are not shuffled into the deck; instead, whenever a valley is created, one of the expansion cards is added to the selection row, acting as a normal card for the purposes of selection and placement.

Starting from humble beginnings, you must lead your civilization to greatness. Harvest, hire, build, and plan your way into the history books!

At its heart, Ancient Realm is a civilization-building-themed puzzle game, where you're trying to maximize your points by deciding which blocks to keep and which blocks to build over, whilst carefully managing your resources. Balance end game scoring goal needs with immediate tactical needs to create a mighty civilization replete with wonders of the world.

Making history isn’t always easy. Celebrate your triumphs with grand monuments while managing the misfortunes that plague your growing civilization.

This 6-card expansion randomly replaces some of the standard game’s Districts with special Districts featuring Monument and/or Misfortune blocks.

Monuments to your civilization can be constructed without any cost and score at the end of the game, or can be covered to gain a free Resource. Misfortunes are negative events that apply when they are in your Realm; you can cover them up to eliminate their effect or suffer through them to score points for your resilience at the end of the game.
