Naturopolis is live on Kickstarter! Here’s how to pledge for the campaign.

Naturopolis is a standalone Sprawlopolis game. What does that mean? Well, it's more of what we built with Sprawlopolis, but instead of more cities, it's open countryside. It adds a few new twists (rivers, double-line roads, and camp sites) and can be played on its own or combined with Sprawlopolis/Agropolis in a fun new way.

FOR THE FIRST TIME AT KICKSTARTER THERE WILL BE A PLEDGE MANAGER for this campaign! Please read ‘Here's how to pledge at Kickstarter as a member’ as this means that things are very different this time around.

The first important thing is the campaign link:

What will be included in Club Packages?

Supporters of levels including a wallet game ($18+):

All of the new content in the campaign will be included in future packages. Naturopolis with the Nessie/Points of Interest expansions will be offered as the Featured Game in one package; the new Sprawlopolis: Roadwork expansion with the Sprawlopolis Expansion Collection wallet will be the Bonus content.

The Combopolis Expansion Collection with Ultimopolis expansion will be the Featured Game in another upcoming Board Game of the Month Club package.

Supporters at Ltd Postcard Plus ($10/$12) level:

Sprawlopolis: Roadwork expansion with the Sprawlopolis Expansion Collection wallet will be the Bonus content in one package. Naturopolis with Nessie/Points of Interest, Combopolis and Ultimopolis will not be included in any packages at this level.

Supporters at Ltd Postcard ($5/$6) and Digital Only levels:

The PNP files for Naturopolis with Nessie/Points of Interest, Roadwork, Combopolis II and II and Ultimopolis will be added to the Board Game of the Month Club Dropbox.

Here's how to pledge at Kickstarter as a member:

For this campaign we will be using Gamefound’s Pledge Manager. We hope this makes it easier to support the campaign as you do not need to calculate how much to pledge at Kickstarter. Shipping will be collected in the Pledge Manager, and your club discount will be added as a credit using your name and Patreon email address.

Pledge just $1 at Kickstarter to support the Board Game of the Month Club Members reward. There’s no need to add any bonus support for the games, but you can if you wish so you pay for the reward now and pay for shipping later. You can use the pledge calculator to see how much your reward plus shipping is likely to be if you wish: https://ericshead.github.io/bshy_ks_calc/
Choose any bonus content you wish to add to your pledge, and you’re all set.

The amount pledged at Kickstarter will be transferred to the Pledge Manager and you will be able to finalize the content of your reward there, making an additional payment for content and shipping if required.

When the Pledge Manager opens, if you do not see the credit, we will be able to update it manually; this will most likely happen if your Kickstarter name and email address is different to your Patreon name and email address. We will let you know what to do if this happens when the Pledge Manager opens.

Any questions, just ask either in the comments here or on our Discord server.

Wind whistling, bees buzzing, rivers rolling along: the sounds of the great outdoors are everywhere. This open countryside is unspoiled by human hands, and it’s your job to keep it that way. Make sure the tourists and campers have somewhere to go, but don’t let their presence distract you from what really matters.

In Naturopolis, 1-4 players work together to build a new landscape. Using only 18 cards and a variable scoring system, the game is never the same twice.

New to Naturopolis are the rivers, which occupy space the same way as roads but don’t hurt your score. (But roads and rivers cannot connect!) Road maintenance isn't cheap and each road will cost you points in the end. This is doubly true with Naturopolis’ double-lined roads as they will cost you -2 points each! It also adds camp sites, which score based on certain goals. Can you work with your team to make the most of these natural wonders while still leaving space for tourists, campers, and other visitors? It’s time to find out!

The Nessie, Points of Interest and Ultimopolis expansions are included with all pledges.

Nessie is a one-card monster intent on wrecking your beautiful landscape, unless you connect enough rivers to neutralize the threat. Points of Interest is a starting card that boosts your score if you surround it with the same type of block.

Ultimopolis is for those who just can’t resist building the ultimate urban farm in the middle of the wilderness. This expansion works just like the Combopolis entries, but allows players to play with all three base games in one go.

There are another three new expansions available as part of the campaign: Combopolis II, Combopolis III and Sprawlopolis: Roadwork.

With three games in the series, it only makes sense to be able to play them all together. Combopolis II adds some natural features to your urban environment and Combopolis III mixes the farmland with the wilderness. Each expansion provides 6 cards with scoring conditions relying on both of the two games being mixed. Now on every turn you’ll draw one card from each game, choose one to play, and then discard the other. It’s a whole new world of exciting combinations! The two new expansions are included in the Combopolis Expansion Collection with Combopolis I, or available as the Combopolis Catch-Up Pack with the new wallet if you already have Combopolis I.

The Sprawlopolis: Roadwork expansion adds some strange routes to your city blocks. When using this, each player will get one of these new road cards to start the game. They must either play it at some point by connecting the roads on the card to pre-existing roads or take a penalty at the end of the game. Where we’re going, we definitely need roads! Sprawlopolis: Roadwork is included in the Sprawlopolis Expansion Collection, or available as the Sprawlopolis Catch-Up Pack with the new wallet if you already have all of the other Sprawlopolis expansions.

There are so many more details on the Kickstarter page. Head over there for everything you need to know.

A note about an oddity in pricing: adding Combopolis II+III and the Combopolis wallet adds $9 (so $21 total). The $22 pledge tier is $1 more, and also includes the $6 Sprawlopolis Roadwork+wallet. That extra item isn't needed for a $10/$12 member. It feels weird to only save $1 by not needing it.

Eric Anderson

So I *shouldn't* do the $1 Patreon pledge level and just get the $55?

Michael Gay

No extra wallets are being offered as part of this campaign. You'll get the new Combopolis and Sprawlopolis Expansion Collection wallets with your club packages.

Button Shy

@Devon Sheppard - "everything new" has the Combopolis wallet and Sprawlopolis Expansion Collection wallet.

Button Shy

In this situation it may be easiest to go for the $55 all-in tier in the Kickstarter and then switch out the featured games when Naturopolis and Combopolis are in the packages; you'll get a duplicate Sprawlopolis Roadworks, but one of everything else. Otherwise it sounds like you'll you need to order: Sprawlopolis, Wrecktar/Points of Interest/Construction Zones, Beaches, Interstate, Agropolis, Invasion/Points of Interest and Seasons.

Button Shy

I am a top-tier BGotM member: I don't have ANY of the Sprawlopolis family of games. What do I order to get only those that I wouldn't get from future BGotM deliveries? Can I order *just* Sprawlopolis so later I get Combo, Nature, etc?

Michael Gay

Does "everything new" include the two new wallets to hold all the existing and new expansion and combopolis cards?

Devon Sheppard

Thanks! And will I need (and/or be able to get) extra wallets later, or will enough be included with the monthly packages?

Dr. Foo

As you receive wallet games with your club packages, everything new will be part of the club and you do not need to do anything through Kickstarter. Just don't switch out the game when these are Featured.

Button Shy

If you receive wallet games with your club packages, everything new will be part of the club and you do not need to do anything through Kickstarter.

Button Shy

It should work out that way and we will deal with any Pledge Manager quirks as we go.

Button Shy

it's expansions that has been released up to this time, and I choose the featured game each moth for these new items, is there anything else I need to do to get everything, or simply choose the featured game each month?

Dr. Foo

Just adding my voice to the others here... If I already own everything for Sprawlopolis and

Dr. Foo

Cool, thanks.

Sevan Pasch

I'm sure an official answer is coming, but the short answer is: if you're a member of the BGotM and currently receiving a wallet game each month, you do not have to back the KS at all and all the *new content* featured here will be in an upcoming BGotM delivery (assuming, of course, you don't choose to swap it out as the 'game of the month' for that month...)

ericshead

I'd like to know as well.

Sevan Pasch

Yes.

temp_anon

This is my question also. I have never understood the whole kickstarter and/ or patreon subject. I am a member of the monthly game and rpg also. But for fear of messing up, I now own some duplicates at full price 🤣 because I don't understand what I'm supposed to do.

Laura Lea Davidson

I’m still struggling to understand the approach to KS. I am a member of the monthly game and rpg - it said in the email that this game and all new content will be featured in future months - does that mean if I don’t join the KS I will get all of these items at some point anyway?

Steve Cluer

Instaback! Quick question on how to pledge though - I don't want to forget what to select, so I'm assuming that if I just do a "normal" pledge in Kickstarter with everything I want, and my Patreon discount is less than shipping, that the pledge manager credit will apply to the extra shipping charge and it'll all come out in the end (as opposed to the whole "pledge a dollar and then figure out later" approach)?
