I have theWallet Games Monthly (US/UK) $18/month What code should I use?

C L

I'd second that request on Chainmail... joined BGOMT Club around the same time.

James Gent

Two totally random questions. I missed so much of the Chainmail due to not having found out ya'll existed until like November of 19. I know the PnP is available which is awesome. Are we allowed to have them professionally printed? I mean I'm sorta a purist and having the game in my collection means I'd love to have it authentically printed as possible, vs doing it at home. I also see the game box is available in PnP. I know TGC does medium stout boxes. Are we allowed to have them produced there in order to have them done right, vs a home brew hack job? Secondly, last year I think it was you all did a special on old copies of BGOTM club monthly packs. Is that anything you foresee doing again at any point? I was able to expand my collection pretty decent by picking up 5 random months worth. Being such a fan of your games and monthly club, it didn't matter what it was, I was adding to my collection which was golden.

Thanks for pinning the link to this page in the Discord

Eddie Gugino

Awww shucks... I'm blushing... =D

Matthew Mitchell

That would be in the BGOTMC PnP folder. =)

Matthew Mitchell

Matthew is awesome, he helped me out a lot these last couple of days. Just sayin'! :-)

CountryYokel

Where can we find rules for tempus quest episode 1? I got two copies of the map, and can largely figure out what's happening, but a scenario sheet like the one for episode 0 would be great

Ezra

Is there an easy way to check if we filled out the t-shirt survey?

Jen E and Jayne K

@PiHalbe yes I’ll track them down here and get them out to you.

Thank you, James! I definitely have never seen any "Flip the Bottle" game. The Trials came with the next envelope and I have those. I am thoroughly missing 6 Universal Rule cards. :-( Any chance the missing items can somehow fit into the next envelope?

PiHalbe

I'm sure Jason can correct me if I'm wrong, but from my notes, September 2017 had Fast As Lightning postcard game, Flip The Bottle ($5), Twin Stars: Master The Trials ($5), and part of Universal Rule: Second Wave ($10).

James M.

I might be able to find one here. If nobody else does first. We just started putting a contact card back in the packages starting in January.

This might be late, but can anyone list the contents of the 2017-09 package? I don't seem to have it and want to hunt down if I find any contents of it in my collection. Thank you!

I talked to the designer about these and I'll get the answers back up on the FAQ. I did adjust it because I was incorrect about the Gryphon's Nest. 1) Only the Tower Cap scores each room, including crossed out ones. 2) Explosions make a room unusable. You can cross out the Predictor or Distorter with an explosion, but you won't get the action. 3) Tower Caps count all rooms count all rooms below them. I'll clean this up and add to the FAQ, and see what we can squeeze into the next version of the PDF file. Let me know if anything else comes up.

So I played again today using all the information on the FAQ and scored 43, which is a bit lower than the 50 point goal. Game end was triggered with last hourglass, scored 20 for two Libraries, 13 for two Gryphon Nests and 10 for end game scoring (all six elements were at "1" which made end game scoring less than ideal). A few more comments and questions: 1) I really think the game sheet itself needs to elaborate that final scoring is only uncrossed rooms but Tower Cap and Gryphon Nest includes even crossed rooms. This is not intuitive. 2) You explained that Predictor and Distorter can be crossed out at any time. But does an Explosion also allow you to trigger them? Because in many instances you don't want to cross out an elemental room and reduce your end-game scoring or ability to build Libraries. 3) I don't think I received an answer on Tower Cap scoring: which rooms count? Just elemental rooms or also the lab, predictor, distorter, library and stairwell? 4) Why, design-wise, is there an extra way to build the Air and Water tracks?

Stuart Detsky

Thank you for the quick reply and FAQ. I plan to try again tomorrow using this information and will let you know if there are any other questions I have.

Stuart Detsky

These are now on the FAQ page as well.

I could submit today and it'll show up there in about a month. :) Not that I shouldn't submit today, but it's been so delayed lately. Here's a link for now. I added it to the post above and I'm filling in the answers to your questions. I also added a form to ask. Feel free to ask here or via the form. https://buttonshygames.com/pages/legends-of-dsyx

Or you can create a page for the game at BGG and use the forums.

Stuart Detsky

We definitely need a place for questions and answers. It might be a google form offsite so that the designers can also jump in and answer questions. I’ll set that up and get you some answers.

More questions and comments after first try of Tower of Mages: 1) I think that the Predictor must allow you to do the Market Phase but only 7 Market Phases must happen rather than additional ones due to Predictors. Because I ended up with so many Market Phases (since I assumed you didn't cross off eyes under the Hourglasses) and my elemental market were all up in negatives. Or maybe that is how it's supposed to be? 2) Gryphon Nest & end scoring - Do you score elemental rooms regardless of whether they were crossed off due to explosions or building Libraries? 3) Tower Cap - again, are these only non-crossed-off rooms? And does this include the Library and/or Stairwell as a room? What about Predictors, Laboratories, etc.? 4) I think there should be a place to track how many elemental rooms you have of each element as you go since it's hard to track visually and important for Libraries and end of game scoring.

Stuart Detsky

Maybe I'm not in the right head-space, but the rules for Tower of Mages do not seem very clear at all. Not sure if this is the place to ask questions, but here goes: 1) When you build a Special Room, does that replace the steps you take in the entire second paragraph of the Building Phase rules or just everything from "...and add the connected Room..."? Meaning, do you still draw a new circle in the records track? 2) Market Phase - these rules are extremely confusing. "Cross out the next available Eye on the time track"??? Does that mean the Eye directly under the hourglass you just crossed out? Does that mean the one two hourglasses down? 3) The five non-elemental rooms have no explanation whatsoever on how or when things happen. Laboratory - assume when you draw that room on the building plan the "?" is replaced with whatever symbol is below, which does not go against "C" in the Building Phase rules? Predictor - Can this only be crossed out due to an Explosion? Or also at end of game? Do you also have to cross out the "next" eye on the time track, meaning you lose the ability to do one market phase? Distorter - Again, can this only be crossed out due to an Explosion? Tower Cap - I assume this is scored immediately? Gryphon Nest - Also scored immediately? Based on the values of the Elemental Rooms at the time it is built? 4) End of Game - Does "complete any available Market Phases" include any non-crossed-out Predictor rooms? "Total your score for your Elemental Rooms" - this provides no guidance to how these are scored! I assume it is based on the number of icons for each element multiplied by the end of game value in the Elemental Market? But do you score every room including those already scored for the Tower Cap and/or Gryphon Nest?

Stuart Detsky

Thanks for the links and info. I've bookmarked this post to make sure I can easily get to the full list, should it be updated in the future.
