Akasaka and Fukuda are two masters of mixing in subtle story telling along with the obvious. If you take a second look at that kabedon scene and make note of the background girls you'll see foreshadowing of a situation that won't come to fulfillment until S3.

Other anime adaptations that have had the same situation have simply chosen to drop such re-introductions.

2024-09-18 19:00:19 +0000 UTCPhew lots of things happening this episode! Let's start with the beginning, when the topic of smartphones are the focus. Miyuki Shirogane is a commoner and his family is actually really poor, he can only attend this school through his own efforts. A Smartphone is pure luxury and nothing else but thanks to Kaguyas involvment he is certain that the past 6 Months were nothing was happening are wasted because he didn't had a smartphone to make the needed moves. Kaguyas partner in crime is a blonde girl named Ai Hayasaka, she is her personal maid since both were cildren and one of my favorite characters in the show, so definetly a name you should write down too! While they were debating if they should visit the beach or the mountains, Chika Fujiwara mentioned Osore Mountain, translated it would be called "dread mountain" and is represented in a couple of urban legends where like a small child is lost and is haunting the area, it is a volcanic mountain so it might be just a thing where the people associated sulfur with something bad. Besides the Mass Media Club we got introduced to the war criminal this episode, her Name is: Nagisa Kashiwagi. She is the girl the random guy wants to confess and we can see her with her friends in the flashback, those friends are: Maki Shijo, Erika Kose and Karen Kino, if two of those names sound familiar it is because i mentioned them in Episode 1. Kabedon - is something that originated from Shojo Manga ("girls comics") but got so popular that students started doing that in real life too. It is pretty much exact what Shirogane explained, you bash your hand into the wall creating the "don" sound and then asking your person of desire out. Apparently it has a certain successrate. Mass Media Club - Secret behind the scenes Information Karen noticed a friend of hers showing the smallest amount of interest in the Guy we see at a later point getting advice from Shirogane, so she decided to help her friend out and came up with idea to pretend they got requested to ask said boy if he had a Girlfriend. Her intentions were that the friend should go ask the guy but she was scared and shy therefore she didn't wanted but in her stead Nagisa Kashiwagi offered her help and asked him straight away setting everything in motion. The Boy later on overhears the Mass Media girls talking about how the Studend council offers love advice because love affairs are a studend problem and the council helps every studend no matter their problems. After he observed Shirogane for a bit he also overheard the delusions of the same two girls about Shirogane and Kaguya that is why he was certain that Shirogane was a master in the topic about love.
