Vinland Sage Season 2 Episode 23 Reaction

Vinland Sage Season 2 Episode 23 Reaction

What it means to be a "true warrior" is really highlighted this episode. Thorfinn was able to speak to Canute without fighting but he also won the battle of Ketil's farm through words, without having to pick up a sword or throw a single punch. Canute laughing at Thorfinn wasn't really something done out of disrespect but like he said earlier, during negotiations people often try to bargain with him, threaten him, and often times try to trick him or trap him in some kind of shady deal. So for Thorfinn to simply say he would run if Canute wouldn't leave was actually quite a relief to him. There were five flowers that Einar places on Arnheid's grave, I personally believe that three were for his mother, father, and sister, one for Arnheid, and one for her unborn child. One flower for each person he loved; or would have potentially loved in the case of Arnheid's unborn baby. So much great character growth this season, Thorfinn and Einar are obvious. Olmar becoming a man and settling down to take over the farm (which he considered meaningless and boring work at the start of the season), Snake, or Roald, showing us that he really does care about his friends and the farm and that he trusts Thorfinn and Einar enough to reveal his true identity, and the Old Master being and absolute treasure from start to finish. Just a nice little detail throughout the episode, many of the characters repeat the line "somewhere, but not here" or something very similar to that in reference to Vinland. The title of episode 1 of season 1 is "Somewhere not here". Just a nice little addition to show that things have finally come full circle.

While this is a work of fiction, Canute did existed and he did disbanded his armies from england gaining the trust or at least compliance from the local nobility
