The story goes that, when he was old, he sat in his throne with his feet in the water and, like in this episode, he commanded the tides to stop and heed his will. Of course the tides didn't stop to which hr declared "Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws."
