I've always loved the way character development happened in vagabond, and from what I've heard it is rather similar development with this series. Though far less peaceful from my understanding

Thorfinn is quite possibly one of the best protagonists in anime and manga. As you've watched episode 4 already you can pretty well guess what we're going to see from Thorfinn for the rest of season 1, but season 2 is where the story and character development really shines.
