Ah, right on time! Just before the month ends at that, I managed to make something, a full color pic at that too, deciding to finish the drawing exercise, of which you saw a WIP earlier last week. And while, yeah, typically my Drawing Exercises shouldn't be tied to existing things, I suppose I did this because I hadn't any idea. Wasn't in my right mind I suppose.
So, a little story behind this for those not in the know; a few years ago, I was following livestreams of a D&D campaign, and yes, while the usual fantasy theme is not really what I enjoyed, it was more of the story threads, jokes and running gags that kept me engaged - as well as its theme; a world of sailors and pirates and all sorts of weird things. Until one certain week, a funny idea came up - a toyetic 80s cartoon version of its world, a theme I latched onto (and modernised) and became the basis of all of my fan-art of that series going forward. Regrettably I fell by the wayside for various reasons, but at the least, there's always the archives to look into.
Various characters took my interest in designing - as the GM and players deliberately gave not entirely complete descriptions of side characters, to encourage creativity and imagination, and this, even now, remains one of my favourites; Pirate Lady Zarael Zazlamel. A conniving, backstabbing, double-crossing, self-serving, heavy-drinking troublemaker, and captain of a crew of Tieflings (basically half-human, half devil/demon, of which she also is one)
Yes she's meant to be a pirate (a Hex Blade I recall in terms of character class), yet for whatever reason, it came out more like a wild west character, huh? I wanted her to be very fashionable, and show her inherent demon strength. The hat, the dress, the four barreled shooter (sorry, blaster). And some features I came to use in my depiction of other demonic characters; the hair; epic chops, hairy cleavage, and so on.
