PSA for Patrons.
Added 2024-10-10 21:39:24 +0000 UTCI understand that some of you have concerns about the unedited content and the lack of pausing during reactions which i somewhat understand.
So, I wanted to make a (not so) little post to just explain my point of view, and this isn’t me invalidating your concerns but it will hopefully help you understand a little more why the videos appear as they do.
Missing plot points: i totally understand how this can be frustrating at times as obviously you want me to be able to react to all your favourite parts of the content. However, i am simply unable to predict when an important scene or piece of information is going to be coming up, so i can’t pre-empt this and pause to talk or stay silent etc. But I do want to assure you that i end up watching each episode or movie either 2-3 times through screen recording and editing so if i don’t catch it in the episodes i will generally catch it later.
Pausing: this is kind of an extension to the first point but a solution i hear a lot is to simply pause more. Which once again i understand, but in practice pausing constantly isn’t a simple solution. First of all this would disrupt the flow of videos immensely as well as make it much more difficult to edit together for youtube. However i definitely will be making more of a conscious effort in future uploads to pause more frequently if there is a tangent that i find myself wanting to explore 😂
I’m also wondering if for PATREON EXCLUSIVES ONLY would you guys prefer i do those with subtitles on? The reason why i can’t offer subtitles on all the uploads is because i wouldn’t want subtitles in the Youtube edit. I know this isn’t a perfect solution but it is something i could definitely implement if you guys would prefer.
Otherwise, if it is something that bugs some of you, you might find that the unedited content just isn't what’s right for you and that’s totally fine! ❤️

As an exclusive headphone listener, it doesnt matter to me how much i increase the volume, you will always be at least 30-40% louder than the audio for me at any given point ( no complains i love you so much and can listen to you all day, i don't need you to pause , id just like to be able to understand what is going on in the video itself). Often the generated subtitles ( which were offered as a solution to me multiple times by other users) , mis-print/pronounce a lot of things, be it your English accent or the fact that there's multiple audios at once and the AI doesn't know where to pull what audio bites from. Hopefully my explanation made sense- ADHD is strong with this one.

2025-10-03 18:24:17 +0000 UTCI haven't generally been bothered because having usually watched tour edited vids on youtube it's clear you watch multiple times and you do better than most with inserting editing brad clips to talk about things you may have missed in the moment. that said maybe pausing more for tangents will help and for patreon exclusives watching with subtitles definitely! honestly it's too bad it's probs a pain to render because if you were able to watch with subtitles and then upload a screen recording without for yourself maybe that'd help. but also you balance it all quite well overall I think this explanation makes sense and you should just try whatever you're feeling in the moment.

It’s been kind of sad seeing you get more stressed about this stuff as your audience has grown and I hope you’re still enjoying it and doing ok! Just my two cents, but I think if there are things you can do that make something more accessible for some people that’s awesome. However if it’s going to make it a significantly frustrating experience for you it’s not worth it. My favourite reactions are the ones where you are having fun and being real. I DO really appreciate when you pause for VERY long comments because you seem to get more out of the show, or when you edit in your thoughts later on things you might have missed the first time that feel significant or especially funny. But I don’t expect it, and I trust that you do what you can with the time you have. At the end of the day I just want you to do what you enjoy most.

Some of the stuff they say can get lost in the shuffle and a lot of the small comments are foreshadowing for major plot points. I don’t agree with the people who wish you would pause more. You are absolutely right that it would disrupt the flow of the video. And you do always catch the things you may have missed once you see it again. I still watch some shows I’ve seen a million times and find things I never noticed before. It’s one of the awesome things about tv and movies.

The only time I would personally like for you to pause is when you have a lot to say otherwise I'm just glad I get to see you watch some of my favorites and see your opinion and see if our opinions are similar or if you have a different opinion on certain topics or scenes.

Do what feels right for YOU. it's most important you're enjoying what you put out. the subtitles are a good idea in my opinion, but please don't feel like you have to start jumping through hoops, or changing a formula that works for you, in order to entertain us.

There's another where he doesn't show what he's watching and you have to sync your Netflix at the beginning and watch two screens at once. The point is, everyone does it differently. And we all have the power to decide whether that's what we want to watch. I don't want you to change what you're doing Brad. You are why I'm here. I always watch a show before I see you react. If I was watching myself I wouldn't pause or go back the whole time, cause then it's not my first genuine reaction anymore. Just keep doing what you're comfortable with and if you want to pause then you do it and if you don't just don't. Love you! And I use the subtitles from vimeo and they work good enough.

(like the sh line) i understand that pausing for every comment would be time consuming and a nightmare to edit with syncing up audio etc but we don’t mind if you do that and have to rewind also! loving the reactions so far!!🥰

I do understand that we wouldn't want you to miss plot points etc but you have mentioned you watch them 2 or 3 times whilst editing, numerous times. And if everyone is like me they'll watch your unedited versions on here and then watch the YouTube edits so you'd point out or react to the plot in the edited version. Sorry I went off on a bit of a tangent there but I can't imagine how overwhelming trying to please the masses is whilst still keeping your channel and this true to yourself. Keep doing you!

But as I've gotten older and matured I've realised that there's so much more to it than "just pausing". And it's also so unnecessary to comment and complain about it because 1: it's the reactors content, not mine and 2: I don't have to watch them if it bothers me so much and most times I wound up concluding that the "bad" parts were outweighed by the good parts of most reactors' content anyway. You're only human Brad, we're literally not programmed to be good at multitasking lol. Even so, you manage to do it a lot better than most😂 Keep up the good work! I always love to watch and look forward to your hilarious videos. Your comedic timing is always impeccable haha♥️

Is that something you or someone could edit? I know that's a lot of labor, just asking as someone with auditory processing issues. Glad to hear your kind thoughts about this unfortunate push back

I know I miss things when I’m watching a series or movie for the first time that I don’t catch until I’m rewatching, so I would expect the same from anyone making reaction content and generally assume anything important missed is caught in the rewatching process of editing. Once in a while you’ll pause at the exact wrong moment or talk over something and I have a gut reaction of “Noooo!” But that’s literally every reactor and is a concern for your experience rather than ours as we don’t want you to miss something funny or important, etc. In general, you’ll see it in editing or we’ll tell you in the comments. I generally prefer subtitles on but am fine with them off, especially if it’s a hassle on your end. If there’s ever something I missed and really cared about, I’d pull up the show itself on whatever streaming platform, but I can’t say that’s ever happened.

2024-10-10 22:11:57 +0000 UTCfirstly, i’m sorry this is still such an ongoing issue for some and i’m super pleased with how you’re going about continuing to stand up for yourself/your reaction style & set boundaries with your audience while still showing how much you listen and care. i def prefer talking over bits than constant pausing, i always have a giggle when you talk over an important bit cause i know you’ll catch it later and it makes it fun to see what will make it into the edit. i do like the subtitles idea though! as long as it isn’t a huge negative impact towards you, as an AuDHD girlie they are always welcomed lol

I would say if you feel yourself going on a tangent, pause, otherwise you could miss enough that the next part of the show doesn't make sense. Your edits always make up for you missing little things, but I hate to see you confused because you missed something. I would love captions when possible. I sometimes keep the video turned down because while I don't care about the cuss words, I feel like I shouldn't have my young kids listening to that, not to mention they shouldn't hear some of the shows. 😬 So captions help me know where in the show we're at and let me keep the overall volume lower, as you naturally tend to be louder than the show. Hope that word vomit makes sense lol.

You’re not a machine designed to create content for everyone’s extremely specific idiosyncrasies. Whether it’s uncut or not it’s still a reaction. Hearing your thoughts is literally the fun part. I’m sorry to go on a rant, but this really irked me! You create way too much content to be stressing out about re-syncing the video with the recording or worrying about when you can or can’t have a genuine response to something you’re watching 😑 Oi. Now, for your question: subtitles are nice because I’m hard of hearing but I will watch either way 🫶🏾

Pausing - honestly I can’t imagine the ball ache of re syncing your edit side of things for each pause so I’m fully against pausing more for your own sanity 🤣

2024-10-10 21:47:02 +0000 UTCi personally tend to watch the content twice (in patreon and youtube since i love the editing but i still want to get the raw version) so i wouldn’t want to watch it with subtitles if you think the is going to make your job harder… personally although i have found it a bit frustrating sometimes when i see you missing an important point in a reaction it’s always been something that you seem to realise and comment on the youtube upload in the editing clips (or on the comments of the upload on patreon) so i guess what i mean is just do whatever makes your life easier ig 🤍 p.s: you’re doing a great job sweetie🫶🫡

I'm here for your 'in the moment' thoughts on the episodes/films and as you say you have no way of being able to predict when important scenes or lines of dialogue will occur. If I was watching it with a friend in the same room I wouldn't expect us to pause something if we wanted to comment on it 🤷♀️ I've been a patron for about 18 month now and I've very rarely seen you miss an important point.
