Visual Novel Test

I've been playing around with some visual-novel builders and need some guinea pigs to test the results on.
Below is a link to a little test "game". If you have some time to spare (and trust me enough to open an exe file) I'd love to hear how it runs for you.
It's for Windows only, right now.
Just download the zip and then export everything in it into a single file. Click the exe and it should start.
Let me know how it goes!

loved it... reminds me of the old school Leisure Suit Larry games a bit. Really hope this happens!

If you need software help, I'd be happy to do whatever. I can do Python (Ren'Py), ECMAscript/Javascript/Actionscript, and probably whatever else. It looks like you're using TyranoBuilder, which from what I see is embedded in the executable looks like it's js based. OTOH, it also looks like it's pretty GUI-based drag-n-drop, so maybe no help is required. (As an aside, you might have accidentally left the two misty assets images in the binary. Very nice! Also, apparently TyranoBuilder attaches the user-created assets to the built game by presumably appending a zip file to the base runtime, so it's pretty easily extractable).

Fake Name

Works fine for me, shows promise for sure.

DragoonGTS

Yes please :D

Terje

The game works well. No complaints. If you're going to do more of this sort of thing... well, I'm quite interested.

On a technical note, runs fine on Windows 7, Norton threw a bit of fuss but I decided to click through and trust you. The Save and Load functions seemed to be working fine. And assuming there is no Misty and all options bring you back to the bartender then the gameplay is working too. No sound though, is that intended?

Obhan

If I hang about this stage for long enough... Misty will surely arrive, right?... right? :o

Obhan

nicely done. funny not crude humour and the bathroom joke was perfect.

Haematite

Everything worked on Win10 Home for me. Forgot to test saving, but the menu itself did. Desire to Know More intensifies.

MelodyBunneh

Worked on my Windows 10. I like the humor, but the save did not work (was it supposed to?). I like Misty ... she seems nice. I may need to go explore the ... other options.

James Owens

Tried it on Windows 7 and it worked well. The skip button seems a little overactive though. It would fly through multiple scenes for me.

ScarySerum

It works fine and I love the humor hope to see a complete version of this or one of your comics in this style

Andrew

Win 7, 2560x1440. Worked well until I went to quit, the window that popped up cut off the buttons when it confirmed my choice to quit.

Hushsucks

Very nice, I can't wait till Misty gets on stage any minute now. o(☼u☼)o Good humor thus far. All the buttons & options work fine. In full screen, there's a big black bar on the right side, but that's prolly just my resolution. Skip can work a bit too well, is there a skip what you've read already option available?

ZekeStaright

Ok - AVG mde a fuss over it but after clearing it I can run it - nice game so far! Where's Misty, by the way?

I use Ubuntu, but I tried it in CrossOver (a Windows virtual environment). The framework starts, but I just get a blank screen. It looks like there may be an error code, but it flashes by so fast I can't read it. Does this function under 32-bit or just 64-bit?

Nathan Weber

Windows 10. Works fine. Loving the infinite loop of going back to the Bartender.

PatreonSoda

My windows 8 box wont run it says no permission...

Ran fine for me- windows 10

Shawn K. Younkin

worked fine for me on Win 10

Jason Robertson

Oh man that Background is just so detailed and lively. I thought I was really at a cheap, little gentlemens bar with muscular giant werewolves swining from the poles :3 But seriously this looks liek a great start so far. Maybe you can add a few animated scenes here and there. Like when she shakes her butt at the end when going through the door? You could do similar short animation effects with boobs, dances and so on. Like little rewards for making the right choices in the story. Keep at it J.J. this looks like a great start

Savage Shark

Good humour. Works fine on WIn10 Pro, just have to bypass the SafeScreen security.

DurrnDragon

There's plenty moonage in there already ;)

Jolly Jack

Sigh, living in the Mac world.

John

Good pacing with the text, nice humor, and 'ends' at the Bartender with three options but no progress forwards, which I believe is intentional. Oh, and the sign out front gets two thumbs up in a sketchy sort of way. Needs more full moons next time. :)

Akaruime

Works fine on my fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. Curious to see where you are going with this :D

nedanecin

work fine on old win 7 pc

Wwolfneo

Hehehe, I'm still giggling. Curious to see what you have in mind for this. <3

amandamontagne

Runs fine(win 10). Of course the build in security goes nuts. But after a temp disable it runs great.

Axti

You'd think I'd have put SOMETHING provocative in there, wouldn't you?

Jolly Jack

Runs fine on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1

Bob

You couldn't have thrown in a busty elf barmaid instead of that guy? Really?

Piltheser

Run fine on my computeur (windows 7) good work and great humour

Lorvianne

OMFG! And I thought your censored Apsara comics were hilarious. XD I NEED these Visual Novels from you in my life! Hell, I'd even take more of these "test" games. That was awesome. XD

Silvador

Polk beat me to it by a few minutes, but yea it all checks out for windows 10 so far assuming you don't have sound in the game at the moment. Upvoting dancing bartender... preferably wearing tassels oo'lala!

Murphyslaw

Ran fine on my PC (Windows 10). Text flowed fine, scene transition was smooth, bartender appeared, Three options worked too. Saving and loading worked. Hide text worked, but I was worried for a moment when there were no 'show text' options. Thankfully, just another click got the text back on. And I will admit, the writing was spot-on. Real funny material, even for a test program (Seeing the bartender swinging around that pole might not have been pretty, but GOSH, I would have rolled on the floor laughing at that image. XD )

Polk Kitsune

love it runs great on paralels and wine 2.6 (staging)

The sniping spy

My old Mac howls in pain. (I really should finish building my new gaming PC.)
