2026-02-09 02:51:35 +0000 UTCJust added this to chapter 10: "We’d also finally had the time to spread the Legionnaire class around to everyone, courtesy of Nikephoros. It was traditionally used for more of an infantry-focused army, but it would still be helpful for our people to have. After getting everyone enough experience over the winter to get to level one, we’d asked each soldier to pick a skill called Endless March. That skill let our legionnaires move faster, and travel for longer, whenever they were marching in formation with other legionnaires. Once they’d selected the new skill, we asked them to stop leveling the class for now, just to make sure experience would go to the more important classes so they'd level up first. In the future, if we needed more hand-to-hand skills, or other legion-related abilities, we could see about channeling more experience into Legionnaire." Thanks for bringing up the idea!

2026-02-08 20:40:51 +0000 UTCIt would also give them skills for hand combat if they end up without billets or unique skills for the military, also it could be another class that Alexander could embue in another doppelgänger

2026-02-08 20:32:11 +0000 UTCGenerally because they didn't want to divert experience from the other, more valuable classes, but I've debated having them take just a single level in the class and then stopping there. Maybe I should just commit and have them do that.

2026-02-08 20:30:02 +0000 UTCI am surprised that Alexander has not asked for Nikephoros’s legionnaire classes? It might help their soldiers with extra bonuses or with their coordination

2026-02-08 19:08:30 +0000 UTCThe map represents the one King Francis shows him in the chapter and so isn't an objective "perfect" map like we might expect in modern times. Much of it would be skewed by the person drawing it, or more of a vague estimate of locations and such.

2026-02-08 18:04:15 +0000 UTCI thought Alexander's planet was identical to Earth? Cause that map does NOT reflect actual France at all. A few of the more glaring problems: 1) The entire North-East is wayyyy bigger than it should be as if it had been stretched out. 2) Most of the regions don't correspond to their real life locations, which is ok, but some of the names are really puzzling, like "Orleanais" which should logically be centered on the city of Orleans. 3) The cities are also pretty far from their IRL locations, especially Marseilles which seems to in the position of Nice. 4) The mountains are also out of place, in particular the "massif central" which as the name indicates should be much closer to the center of France. Is all of this intentional I wonder?

2026-02-08 18:01:51 +0000 UTCGlad you like it! I figured having an artist draw the different French regions would help everyone keep track of them as we go so it was less confusing.
