I have to admit, I was really nervous about this one. It had been over two years since JMM1 was released and I wasn't sure if anyone would still be interested in the story after so much time had passed. It's pretty firmly accepted in this genre that you should never wait more than 3-6 months between book releases or nobody will read your next book - but to my surprise people have come out in droves to read it so far!!
We hit rank #114 in the entire Kindle store rankings which is fantastic (lower is better!). We've also dropped under rank #1,000 for JMM1 as people try the series out of for the first time now that the sequel is out, and the preorder for the JMM2 audiobook is even sitting under #1,000 in the rankings already as well!
Thank you everyone for all your support! Seriously. For those that have left reviews, for those that have shared their love and passion for the book over the years, and for all of you waiting so patiently for the next installment in Jake's story. It's really amazing of you all and wonderful and I honestly can't really believe it half the time still.
Also, a big welcome to the new subscribers who have joined recently. We've gotten a bit of an influx of Artifact-level subscribers who want to read the JMM3 beta copy that is available at that tier. Thank you so much for joining at that expensive of a level and PLEASE do not feel like you have to stay subscribed forever at that level. I promise I will NOT be offended if you just join for a month to read JMM3 and dip out or drop down to a more reasonable level, haha.
Now that the social media craze for the book launch is mostly over, I'm putting the finishing touches on my second round of edits for JMM3 and sending it off to my editor around January 13th. After that, my wife is returning home for the first time in a few months (she's been having to take care of her sick mom for the last couple of months so we've been apart, which has been really difficult for us both for a bunch of reasons). She and I are going to celebrate for a bit and then I'll be loading up the rough draft of Portal to Nova Roma: Paris and starting my first big edit for that book!
Thank you again everyone. I appreciate all of your help and support more than I can ever put into words!!
