The bit on Nordau reminds me of Hindu fascist organizations like the RSS, which (in addition to at times literally working with the Nazis) tried to create a violent masculine ideal to counteract racist depictions of (specific ethnic groups of) South Asians. Right-wing nationalism does have a lot of appeal for certain groups within colonized people - in the Hindu Fascist case it seems to be first popular with savarna (high caste) Hindus. It's an ideology that leads to a lot of horrific violence against minorities (think the Gujarat anti-Muslim pogroms under CM Modi and the ongoing Zionist settler violence against Palestinians) but one that's appealing to people who want to replace their oppressors rather than create a better society
