Big news for Bad Space
Added 2025-06-12 23:04:50 +0000 UTCIt’s official Baddies: I’m going to take a minimum six months off my day job to work on the Bad Space graphic novel.
I applied for (and got!) a grant, and combined with my Patreon, it should be do-able.
The script to the story is complete. So as soon as I sort out dates to finish my job, I’ll start drawing, and posting pages here.
Juggling these comics with my work for the past three years has been tricky at times, and has resulted in long gaps between comics. The chance to focus exclusively on these stories going forward is going to be a game changer for me.

But i really do want to make sure I’m disciplined enough to do work that feels like it’s genuinely mine. And I think id ultimately regret it a lot more if i didn’t take that risk. So yeah, I’m pretty relieved to hear you say that.

2025-06-13 08:57:07 +0000 UTCPhenomenal news! In 2001 I was laid off from a tech company, and found that with enough scraping together of resources I could take 6 months to write. I created two full length screenplays and several shorts, and in the end I wound up back in tech — but the experience was life-changing. Avoid pre-defining what "success" means, and you will no doubt be able to find it along the way. Best of luck. We're all looking forward to hearing more!

I’m using this opportunity to do my comics, rather than staying in the role, or doing freelance. It’s a fraught time for everyone right now, so fk it ❤️
