“Let’s Get the Hell Out of Here…”

Comments

Actually, mild profanities such as "damn" "hell" "tramp" were used quite often in mid 60s prime time. In the 70s we got an occasional "son of a bitch" (after 8 pm anyway). Never "shit." Never "fuck" unless someone slipped up, or wanted to prove a point, on a live broadcast.

Jim's one TRUE love. Never heard the song before, but it's 100% appropriate. So whichever one you boys cut & edited this - Bravo, Victor! Bravo!

Wish I could upload this photo I have of Shatner and Collins smiling ear to ear, shoulder to shoulder in an interview a few years ago. =]

The beasts are loose, chaos reigns!

😭

Great script, great acting! (Can't believe he said "Hell" on 1960s TV)

Sue Farinacci

Bones at the end made me literally lol.

You can read Ellison's original screenplay. I have as an ebook. It's an incredible story. But, budget and network TV in the 60s a lot had to be changed or eliminated. For example there was 3 Guardians, and the OD wasn't Bones it was an unknown officer and it involved illegal drugs on the Enterprise.

Thanks, buddy. My fiancé suffered from depression and took her own life. Your tribute just hit home.

Whoa spoiler alert - I don't recognize those scenes. I'm sure I saw the episode once when I was young, but zero recollection. Waiting to watch TOS w/ the boys after my company's insane season (Open Enrollment) comes to an end in a couple of weeks and the kids are off to Canada with their mother.

Very touching tribute and great song. Made me reflect on my own love who died in 2019.

Can't wait for a touching tribute to "Brain and brain! What is brain?!?"

Gaius Frakking Baltar

Why now? Is there a cause?

Sam Langanke

I found that version a little disappointing. The reason is that it's not a tightly focused TV script. It feels a bit awkward in how it keeps bringing the 'villain' back into the story. As TV it regrettably doesn't quite work.

Numinous2019

No, will have to check it out

Have you guys read the comic adaption of the original Harlan Ellison script? Its interesting to see the differences between the story and the episode:

Terminaldogma01

Tic Toc slop, it'll do gang busters in the algorithm

Justin DiBari

Love it

Denaxas

Nicely done. Great tribute.

Collin Freeman

Wow! Amazing tribute! Also... it breaks my heart every time I see this.

Steve Brant
