Yup, I miss episodic TV.

2024-09-25 19:30:05 +0000 UTCYeah, I liked some of the earlier ones.. WandaVision, Loki, What If?. Some started out well (Ms Marvel) but crashed and burned halfway through, and some were just "fine" (she-hulk), and some were really disappointing all the way through (Falcon and Winter Soldier). Really mixed, sadly, probably because Marvel was overextended at this point.

2024-09-23 23:33:00 +0000 UTCI guess I'm a big enough fan of tng that even my least favorite episodes I essentially enjoy watching. Some of that is probably the nostalgia aspect.

2024-09-22 18:54:55 +0000 UTCThis episode didn't try to hit it out of the park. It kept itself within its purpose. I call it a hit. Even D episodes are extremely watchable. Because great cast, design and production.

2024-09-22 00:38:46 +0000 UTCYeah it depends on why you’re watching it also for sure. There are definitely shows that I’m glad I can count on for a consistent C when I’m relaxing

2024-09-21 21:58:02 +0000 UTCInteresting way to think about it. I've never been altogether a critical person when it comes to TV, which is in part why I think I enjoy listening to you guys so much. There are perspectives I never explored because even the bad episodes I'd always, and still am, giddy to watch. C-tier episodes might be run of the mill, but then for me, it's nevertheless a comfort to sit down to with a cozy coffee in hand and relax. I do agree however, if a show was 100% C-tier "fine", that'd be worse than 13 S-tiers and 13 D-tiers.

2024-09-21 21:51:28 +0000 UTCWhy 26 episodes? 'cause there's 52 weeks in a year. Pre-VCR-cable-internet from about Sept through Feb (? I know the start was about the same as the school's) it was new season episodes. Then they re-ran the series through the summer. There are a couple of TNG episodes I never got the chance to watch until I bought the first complete DVD boxed set and watched them with my then 10yo.

2024-09-21 20:20:44 +0000 UTCFor old school fans, fine episodes are just that, fine, because a lot of the time they put on the show simply as visual comfort food, to inhabit the universe for 44 minutes at a throw.

2024-09-21 17:24:59 +0000 UTCtotally agree. i think breaking it down even further, i have less problems with an episode that is only 'fine' overall if it at least has some really interesting/compelling MOMENTS in it, which is what many 'fine' episodes of tng fall into, but this one is just very bland overall, theres not really much going on

2024-09-21 14:36:37 +0000 UTCI fully disagree with the premise of this video, as I've said before. I'll never understand why this sounds good enough in your heads that you say it out loud lol. Here, have a poop emoji 💩 cuz apparently you'll like that more than a "just fine" smiley face

2024-09-21 14:27:20 +0000 UTCC-tier series? How about most of the Marvel Disney+ series?

2024-09-21 13:48:36 +0000 UTCI realized through rewwatching the series through your journey that there are forgettable episodes. I check out Wikipedia to see the upcoming episodes every few episodes and I occasionally come across the "oh yeah... that one."

2024-09-21 13:44:12 +0000 UTCI agree with most of what you’re saying and this is a topic that could be discussed much more at length for sure

2024-09-21 13:35:28 +0000 UTCI get where you guys are coming from, but episodes that swing and miss the mark big time leave a bad impression to the point where you actively avoid the episode in re-runs or if you're rewatching a whole series again "Final Mission" is a filler episode which is still acceptable (it should have been a better effort) and I find it more acceptable than a truly lousy one especially as this marks the departure of a series regular. I don't think the farewell episode of a character should be a stinker which thankfully this isn't.
