S x 10 This is as good as it gets.

2024-09-24 20:01:55 +0000 UTCI actually really like both the A and the B plot in this episode, I think they both work well and tie together nicely in the end. Plus, the music is awesome in this episode! I would say this episode is between an A and S tier, a touch closer to S tier side for me. "Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you..."

2024-09-21 23:33:31 +0000 UTCB plot will tank Target Audience's tier rating. They've been longing for a "day in the life" episode, and this is a classic case of "No, not the plot!!:

2024-09-17 12:11:37 +0000 UTCI think they'll S this one. It's the sort of thing they've asked for.

2024-09-17 04:31:13 +0000 UTCB. A solid episode. Though I think you guys might rate it A

2024-09-16 22:15:47 +0000 UTCThe B plot gave the episode some stakes and was deftly woven around the A plot to keep things intriguing - the episode would otherwise have been too whimsical (as an adult I absolutely love the character building/development and the fresh perspective of exploring the day-to-day life of the crew) but when I was younger that wouldn’t have been entertaining for long - the B plot balanced it out perfectly and it’s good to see the good guys lose for a change and have been outsmarted by the Romulans and enhances them as an adversary for the next encounter

2024-09-16 21:57:26 +0000 UTCAnother case where swapping the traditional 'A' and 'B' plots is served from having a cast of characters so well beloved.

2024-09-16 20:48:29 +0000 UTCThis isn't the best episode of TNG but its my favorite

2024-09-16 16:51:27 +0000 UTCPersonally love this! But I love every Data episode. Love this episode for the simple „how the crew lives on the enterprise“. Friendship, love, a bit politics. Like the family episodes but with a focus on someone who doesn’t have bio family but a found one. I think you will either love this or think it’s okay. The plot with the romulans certainly isn’t the best. But regarding Data, I just love how the episode depicts his everyday life view and struggles. Being in a new relationship, having a pet and also trying to make your friends happy. Social cues can be hard but in the end you will always find your people. This episode is my comfort watch, whenever I feel down. Data to save my day.

2024-09-16 15:54:45 +0000 UTCIn actuality, I go back and forth between A and S. I’m on A right now.

2024-09-16 10:19:11 +0000 UTCS for Data’s smile 😬

2024-09-16 10:18:20 +0000 UTCSolid A+. So, A or S depending how stingy I'm feeling about giving out S's.
Dan Halstead
2024-09-16 03:14:55 +0000 UTCI had it reversed. I thought the main plot involved Data and therefore the wedding which I considered the A-plot. The B-plot I consider to be the whole Romulan ambassador business.

2024-09-16 00:42:47 +0000 UTCMain plot with the Romulans was meh to me. But I loved the subplot introducing Keiko and Spot. More of them to come!

2024-09-15 23:53:15 +0000 UTCThe dancing doctor!
Troy Massey
2024-09-15 22:52:21 +0000 UTCJust your average day of acting as father of the bride, learning to tap dance and getting hoodwinked by the romulans.

2024-09-15 21:23:59 +0000 UTCOh an easy A tier maybe even S tier. Such a charming episode
Darren Seal
2024-09-15 21:00:03 +0000 UTCThey will love any O'Brien-centric (or centric-adjacent) episode!
Linda Stricker
2024-09-15 20:55:04 +0000 UTCIt doesn't need the B plot, but it's still quality acting by both Romulans - imagine not smiling for years playing the perfect Vulcan

2024-09-15 19:55:08 +0000 UTCS-tier. Personal favorite, brilliant development of a key character and a fresh perspective from Data's eyes. It was amazing 30yrs ago, and is always a great rewatch, year after year.

2024-09-15 19:24:15 +0000 UTCEasy A, A+. And let me give kudos to the voice of Admiral Mendak, portrayed by Alan Scarfe. Just found out he died from colon cancer this April.

2024-09-15 18:39:30 +0000 UTCFor me, this is an S. It is a quintessential Star Trek episode. You get crew lives. A special ambassador. Silly hijinx with O'brian and Keiko. A narrative by Data. Last but not least you get a weaving plot that doesn't interrupt the rest of the episode but it just fits in to the open spaced left between the rest of the story lines. This is one of my favorites.

2024-09-15 18:30:05 +0000 UTCA for me but close to S. On another day I may just go S.

2024-09-15 18:21:43 +0000 UTCI always enjoy these "Dear So-and-so" framing device episodes of television and it's about our favorite android. Not like a masterpiece by any means, but an incredibly enjoyable episode. And it's great to see the Chief finally given a good chunk of an episode.
Deep Red
2024-09-15 18:01:25 +0000 UTCNot quite an S-tier episode for me, but definitely an A for sure. I really like the B plot actually as well. Getting inside Data's head is welcome character development, and his holodeck scene with Dr. Crusher is iconic. And again, some great continuity callbacks.

2024-09-15 17:51:18 +0000 UTCYou guys will love it probably s. It's a solid b for me...

2024-09-15 16:41:38 +0000 UTCA lot of character development in this one.

2024-09-15 16:30:59 +0000 UTCA perfect S tier episode
Phil Ken Sebben
2024-09-15 16:28:44 +0000 UTCSolid A.

2024-09-15 16:22:38 +0000 UTCThe B-plot with the Romulans indeed drops the grade, in my book. Keeping with just the Data A-plot would have kept this episode at a higher tier. Also, the actress playing Ambassador T'Pel is terrible. But I love the dancing lesson between Dr. Crusher and Data..
Collin Freeman
2024-09-15 16:17:01 +0000 UTCThe B plot almost drops it down from S to A
