2024-09-08 00:32:41 +0000 UTCIn addition to being a medical officer who actually had a character arc in Season 2, she was also a famous scientist outside of Starfleet ("Unnatural Selection"). She stood up to the Captain when it was appropriate for an independent duty medical officer to do so. She was also the best thing that could have happened to the Wesley character, as this meant he would be raised by Picard, Riker, Data, Geordi and Worf instead of his mother. And, let's not forget... she banged Riker's dad.
