Oh and say Hi to Brannon Braga.

Mark Wood

I cannot wait to hear their delicious screams in fury over this episode. It brings a smile to my dead cold heart.

Mark Wood

Also, get ready to freak out (pop) about 4 times, you are going to love this especially Alex

marty63026

Might be the 2nd best Klingon episode of TNG. I think the best one is still to come…this season!

marty63026

Yeah, that blew me away! I remember watching it when it aired thinking, "Yeah, it's Star Trek. Worf is going to take the high road and let Duras live in disgrace..." and then he DROVE HIS SWORD INTO HIM! Mind. Blown. TNG was not afraid to defy expectations.

Paul O'Neal

Oh, oh shit. You guys are going to be blown away by this one. I remember seeing it when it was first on and it blew my mind. When Worf freaking ENDS Duras, it was completely not the way I thought that was going to go. TNG was not afraid to defy tropes and expectations. Plus: Gowron!!! Love that guy.

Paul O'Neal

Agreed

marty63026

They’re gonna love it, then hate it. Especially Josh.

Shanelle

This is a spoiler nan, you should delete it

marty63026

K’Ehleyr!!!!! This one’s for you guys, perfect TA episode

marty63026

*Stares back in Klingon*

Thomas Cole

Oh I'm sure he'll make GREAT Dad.

Tim b

The agony in Worfs death cry shows his love for her.

Vikingdad

Some of the best character scenes of all-time Star Trek - just about every Worf and/or K'Ehleyr scene, especially her research and confrontations, Picard enjoying Sun Tzu style negotiation

C

I hate refrigerator's. Wow Klingons kids age up fast! Also how much coke would gowran snort if gowran could snort coke? Is he a Klingon or a wall street investor?

s0rd3z

This is a massive episode. Sets up so many things for the future. The episode itself is fantastic. A great returning character and the tragedy that comes with that. Worf's life gets shaken up when he finds out he has a son. Then of course the Klingon succession crisis. I especially love the moment when Worf goes to grab his Bat'leth. You immediately know that Duras isn't getting out of this episode alive.

Spencer Loften

But otherwise great episode

Greg Quinn

EMT's in rural areas have faster medical response times than Beverly and her crew. Site to site transport to immediate stasis? No At least running and coming into the room with some urgency? Apparently no as well.

Greg Quinn

Refusing to even acknowledge his son is his? It's almost like Worf isn't a very good dad...

Two other details I "love" about this episode: – After K'Ehleyr's death, when Worf lays her down... there's the shot with Alexander in the foreground and Worf coming into the shot, backing up away from her body. He very slowsly stops until his mark, then slowly rotates his body, all with his gaze perfectly fixed on K'Ehleyr's body. Then, just at the last moment, steals his gaze away to look down at his son. And deliver his important line. – The very next scene, Worf has decided to revenge-kill Duras. He comes into his quarters, considers weapons, and grabs his family bat'leth. As an afterthought, he takes off his combadge and tosses it onto a table, where it promptly falls off onto the floor (LOL).

Jovet

I "like" how Picard didn't understand what K'Ehleyr meant to Worf, speaking only of how Worf admired her. He wasn't aware!

Jovet

I guess I didn't get that memo. 🤷

Jovet

Alexander?

Jovet

Oh yeah, the Vor'cha class. My favorite Klingon ship design.

Nolan

I still think The Emissary is one of the most overrated TNG episodes (with the actor playing K'Ehleyr being about the only redeeming feature). This episode was much better because as others have pointed out it's just as much a sequel to Sins of the Father.

Assuming the in-universe calendar mirrors ours and that K'Ehleyr’s pregnancy is also 9ish months. The Emissary: June 1989 Reunion: November 1990

Lwaxana’s Poolboy

Sooo Alexander should be about 8 months old but is obviously a toddler. Unlike other shows, this being sci-fi, they could’ve explained his quick growth with a couple of throw away lines. Small nitpick but maybe a missed opportunity.

Lwaxana’s Poolboy

Another BANGER of a Klingon episode that introduces my favorite Klingon 👁️👁️

valen

No, that post was 5 days ago

Jeffrey

And, uhh, is this Takes supposed to be for S4E6?

Jovet

Question: Did you guys have any inkling that "she was there" when she got pregnant when she was there?

Jovet

My impression was they did expect her return, just as they expected Lore's return.

Jovet

Yes she is.

Jovet

i mean, if we're gonna quote it, let's do it verbatim: “You have never seen death? Then look. And always remember.”

Jovet

Even their dishonorable ways?

Jovet

Gowron's bulging eyes are the best new character since K'Ehleyr.

Jovet

Gowron ... also known as Crazy Eyes 👁️👁️

Was at a Trek convention back in the 90s when a fan asked Michael Dorn about the decision to kill Keh’leyr. He said that the writers asked him what it would take to really piss off Worf, and Dorn responded “idk, kill his old lady?” Not sure if there’s any truth to that but there’s usually a kernel of fact hidden in sarcasm.

Column Meanie

Say hello to the new Vor'cha-class Klingon cruiser. It was given Starfleet-like warp nacelles as a nod to the unity and assumed shared technology with the Federation.

JGoss

"We are now starting the extended procedure to find a new leader for this vast interstellar empire who will rule over billions of people..." "BUT THAT WILL TAKE HOURS!!!!!!!"

Chris Moe

My mistake! Fixing…

EnigmaticPenguin

"K'Ehleyr... was my mate." It was at this moment that Duras knew, he'd fucked up. Also, my man Gowron ☉_☉

TomEmilioDavies

You guys will begrudgingly admit this is a great episode, but hate it all the same for killing K'Ehleyr and replacing her with a child. But you'll be glad Worf is a shitty dad and sends him away almost immediately. 🙃 Also, you'll love Gowron and his crazy frickin'-ass eyes.

Nolan

This is the first real "banger" of Season 4, I think. You get a guest star returning and set up a story. I never understood how Duras could be considered for leadership of the High Council. Yes, it's a secret from the Klingon people that it was Duras' father who betrayed the Empire at Khitomer, but the High Council knows. But hey, it creates an easy villain, and Worf getting his revenge DESPITE the Federation wringing its hands and trying to stop him is ultimately very satisfying, I think. (Federation is all about tolerance, but when it comes to Klingon customs, they are very intolerant. Keep an eye out for this now and in the future.) All, in all, I think you'll love it. Even if it does cost a top-of-the-line guest star.

John

Worf and the Klingons have the best storylines woven through TOS, the movies, TNG ... and we'll see what the future holds for our Warrior race.

THE Fans

Every eipsode showing more Klingon culture is always a winner. The more I learned about klingons, the more I liked them.

Lucas Kane

Well they brought K’Ehleyr back. Yeah, totally a heartbreaker that she is killed in this episode. She was always one of my favorite characters in the show.

Connor Fallon

If you were a person that didn’t like Worf or were on the fence… we can’t be friends, but also I wonder which way this episode drove people when dealing with him. S tier in my heart, I hope in yours too!

Sixto

Noooo Jonny Frakes!

Sixto

If I recall they discussed it a while back, but didn't give a clear indication if they thought they would, but they did say they hoped she would. Wish granted.

Paul

I wonder if they actually expected her to

Evan Guthrie

Interesting how Gowron is never portrayed as a “good guy”, he’s just the alternative candidate to Duras. Were you expecting a twist where Gowron was actually the one poisoning K’mpec?

Evan Guthrie

Klingon episodes are bangers and this is not the exception. The death of K'Ehleyr sent ripples through the Trekker community but then, the biggest shock is having Worf go through and execute her murderer, which he has a right to do in accordance with Klingon law, but Picard is none to happy about.

Mike Rogers

TNG really does a good job of dipping its toes in continuing story, a sequel here to two episodes, an excellent episode with a brutal ending

Darren Seal

"Look at death, and remember." Worfiest thing to say to a kid ever. One of my favorite episodes. Worf is shaping up to be one of the main characters of the show.

Alexander McKechnie

Soongh: “Looks like we have ourselves a little family reunion” Lore to Worf: “Deadbeat”.

Chris S.

Unforgettable.

Vikingdad

Brannon Braga sighting! We getting all the good writers here now

Elway Simpson

She's baaaack. With a lot more development of not just Worf, but Klingon politics.

NivekTheIncorrigible

Such a good episode, but also just absolutely brutal.

Angarl

This takes Worf's character up another notch. Really great writing and a ballsy ending. Another great episode of Star Trek: Glory to the Empire.

Chuck Rice

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Klingon Empire.

tyranusfan

❤️ Love K'Ehleyr. This episode is a delight, despite what happens at the end. But its profundity overshadows all of that. Can't wait to watch them follow Worf's eyes in the transporter room...

Jovet

Yep, first appearance.

Jovet

Absolutely! This is one of the "big" episodes that I have always been eager to see them see, but even more so after seeing their reaction to K'Ehleyr.

Jovet

It’s a sequel to “The Emissary” and “Sins of the Father” rolled in to one, with a dash of “The Bonding”, directed by Frakes and written by Ronald D Moore. This is the least hot take of all time, but I suspect this is an S tier episode for you guys.

EnigmaticPenguin

I love this episode! Major developments for Worf, interesting Klingon culture and politics with Picard stuck in the middle of it, the introduction of Gowron and Alexander, and the wonderful but tragic return of K'Ehleyr. I'll always remember above all else K'Ehleyr's death scene and Riker screaming Worf's name with that shot of the blade as he kills Durass. Speaking of that blade, called a bat'leth, I believe this was also the first appearance of that as well.

Forbidden Donut

Next time, on Star Trek: Family Feud….

Jeffrey

You wondered if she'd ever come back. She did indeed, but with some extra baggage. :)

Paul

Love but hate this episode at the same time.

Paul Rymer

Yep, tears will fly, a new family dynamic is introduced, changes to the Empire. Enjoy the ride.

Matt G Cowart

This picks up where the previous klingon politics episode left off, giving us more of a look at klingon hierarchy, succession and intrigue. Is it a surprise that the 'honour bound' species is actually just about as sneaky and double-dealing as the romulans? Great returning and guest cast, and an absolutely soul crushing ending. One of the best of S4 and one of the best of TNG.

Mara

This is SO "Game of Thrones". - two decades before it aired.......

William McRae

You are both gonna lose your sh!t over this episode - BIG TIME. A great episode though one aspect is bound to ignite some strong reactions from you both. Pretty confident this will be an S-Tier one for you both. Watch TNG delve into GoT territory......

William McRae

Did you guys expect the next Worf episode to be even bigger than the last? Which do you think is bigger in these episodes, Worf’s development, or that of Klingon culture?

Ross Townsend

Best girl is back. Klingon Game of Thrones has begun…
