UNCUT - Innerspace (1987)

Like they aren't going to get ALL THEY CAN HANDLE of Picardo :D

Matt Newmark

If you like Robert Picardo, you should check out The Howling (1981) by Joe Dante, if you have not already seen it. A very different role for him.

Collin Freeman

So I'm mostly here for the trek. But...I need fo watch this with you. Watched it years ago as a kid and loved it.

Greg Quinn

I feel like this movie is highly underrated. I remember watching it dozens of times as a kid, so it was fun rewatching it tonight for the first time in a long time. I think the internal body shots hold up really well still, and am pretty amazed at what they accomplished. Glad you guys got to see it and enjoy it!

Brian Moore

Ah, the movie that gave us Jack Quaid (Sort of)

Adam Reid

Robert Picardo is (or was) a very underrated actor. He also played in "Legend", though you never see his face (He played the swamp witch). I want to say more, but I'd be entering spoiler territory (and that's as far as I'll go).

startrekiborg

I always thought the bad guy was more Dr. Klaw than Inspector Gadget.

wildhunt1973

Yeah, like Megan Fox. So stupid.

Monty Crawford

The guy that plays Martin Short's doctor is the guy who plays that Baris dude from the Star Trek tribble episode, the one who's all over Kirk.

Anthony Goodwin

Same here, too young to see it in the theaters, but enjoyed the VHS and whenever it was playing on TV I would watch.

Firekrys FWO

This is a comedic take on a late 1960's movie called Fantastic Voyage. Those facial morphing scenes were before such things could be done in CGI. So, they probably did like what was done in Star Man, making replacement heads and shooting it like stop motion animation, replacing heads frame by frame. Dante is a big Loony Tunes fan and works in LT characters whenever he can.

Mike Rogers

From digesting the bad guy to the hot piercing pain in Jacks eye even the creepy painful parts can’t help but make you laugh (black comedy?)

Thicketdweller

This movie caught cable disease, and was aired almost daily for a year or two. Loved it got tired of it being on all the tine and didn’’t catch it again until 2014, now a great time to rewatch and it was great time hangin out with your guys

Thicketdweller

Do 2 then!

JGoss

I remember seeing this film at the cinema when I was 15. All the special effects scenes inside the body were wild back then. First time seeing it since. Glad to watch it again with you guys.

Darren Chapman

We did a video on Gremlins last Christmas

I am surprised you guys didn't notice the oner, where Picardo comes out of the bathroom as Jack, he and Lydia talk for a couple minutes, she goes into the bathroom and sees Picardo Cowboy in the tub, all one shot.

JD Nevesytrof

So many years later, Joe Dante was interviewed on Innerspace and he literally said "The only thing wrong with the movie is it's not 90 minutes, no comedy should ever be longer than 90 minutes, but we had so much great stuff we just got tired of cutting it out."

JD Nevesytrof

Innerspace is just a pun on "outer space"

JD Nevesytrof

Now watch Gremlins so you can get to Gremlins 2, my favorite Joe Dante movie.

JGoss

Fun movie - I figured you guys would enjoy it. I've seen it a bunch of times. Not a favourite of mine but enjoyable. And yes, Robert Picardo was the voice of the Johnny Cab in Total Recall, and his likeness was used for the Johnny Cab model.

Michael Ducharme

The place to be

Collin Freeman

This was a great way to be introduced to Robert Picardo. Or, apparently, reunited with Bob Picardo!

JD Nevesytrof

Definitely in my top 5 films, and I'm 43. Was "too young" to go to the cinema back in those days, so recorded it on VHS when it was shown on TV. The "midgets in the car" scene WAS all done with forced perspective

Ee'char

I can tell you for a fact malls in the 80s were hella fun.

JD Nevesytrof

I LOVE THIS FILM! Growing up, it had me both scared and in hysterics when they got half shrunk. It's a gem of a film. Right. I better watch your reaction to it, eh!

Busy Andy

Thanks for the choice Dale! Also thank you for the years of support at the $10 tier! Hope you enjoy this reaction!

Josh (Target Audience)

I'm glad you guys found it entertaining! :)

If you see Meg Ryan now, you'll see what can happen with plastic surgery gone wrong.
