Ducktales s3 eps 23 - 25 The Last Adventure!

Comments

Seeing reactions to the ending and none of them recognize the gargoyles reference they did so much work to set up...ah well.

Great journey start to finish. The tumor brought on by the final Glumgold headache and the plane at the end were worth the trip by themselves ;) There were a few weak episodes of the show but even that made for good drama here, surprisingly. Looking forward to what becomes the next epic! :)

Scrooge wrote on the papyrus that "only the true heir of Scrooge McDuck" could find it. Thats why May and June didnt work, because while they are technically descendants in the same way Webby is, they didnt spend the time and be basically partly raised by him. Also because the Papyrus is VERY magical there's no reason to think it would only rely on blood connections. After all this entire show is kinda made around the idea of family bond being more than just blood.

Travis Laake

The file webby found about May and June mentioned a de-aging serum, so I believe webby IS a clone, that was turned back into a baby with water from the fountain of youth (deaging) so she could be raised as an ally to fowl. Hard to say though

I have enjoyed the ducktales journey with you so much! So glad you enjoyed the finale. It was so fun to see your reactions and see you solve what was happening. Im excited to see what other shows you start next.

This was a wonderful finale to a wonderful series. It also marked the appearance of the last great Disney afternoon show, Gargoyles, which had still been missing. Bradford is a wonderful villain, especially since he's there since the beginning and a rewatch makes you realize a lot of his actions had this motive from the start. Even his first appearance made me think of Fowl's big three from Darkwing. I knew they weren't buzzards but I instantly didn't trust them all the same. And I thought I was being unfair...till it was clear I wasn't. I love that you figured out Webbie's relationship with Scrooge way before I did...I found out when the Professor said so...because I waited a year to watch the finale so that I could forget any important details and couldn't figure it out from the papyrus reappearing. XD

Beryl Strifeclaw

In some foreign translations (German in particular?), April’s name was translated as Lizzie. When the original DuckTales was dubbed in the same language, Webby was also named Lizzie since both characters wore pink.

Hey, FWIW, this video is being displayed as part of the RWBY collection on Patreon. Not that I think that wouldn't be an amazing crossover, but I'm not sure that was intentional. :)

Keith David is amazing. Was surprised to get a Gargoyles reference after all these years.

A Dead Diehard

Thank you for taking on this series! The journey has been delightful. To think this may have started as a lot of us bullshitting on the server one day about how good this show was. I never thought it would do as well as it did in the poll, let alone win it. The finalé is rightly lauded by a lot of folk for being an excellent and satisfying series finalé. Everyone had their moment. All the loose ends were tied up. And so many little things from across the series came back. Watching you and Elijah speculate so early as to what you thought about Webby was fascinating. And the server had it's typical response. Mosco theorizes about Webby being related to Scrooge: Wall of spoilered text in the #ducktales channel. While each boy had their featured season, Webby has been at the center of it all throughout. From sidekick in the '87 series to one of the most important characters in the 2017 series. She was easily my favorite character throughout. As others have pointed out, while the show never did confirm Della and Penumbra being an item, they do appear in a dating game episode of Chibiverse. Not as contestants, but holding hands in the crowd. So, Dellumbra is semi-canon. I count it. Chibiverse has been reliable for stuff like that. They actually outed a character from "The Ghost and Molly McGee" long before she was confirmed sapphic in the series. Chibiverse has insider knowledge. Makes me wonder why they had Mabel Pines as the sole character from Gravity Falls in the Pride Month promo.

Ducktales is definatly one of my favorites, it can get long but you do see development in the different characters through the series, S1 with the mystery of what happened Della, the threat of Magica looming keeping us on our toes was my favorite. S2 was okay introducing Della to her kids and watching her relationship with them was fun. S3 the introduction of deferent character from the disney afternoon and how they are in the same universe was a blast, and then this epic finally. I keep rewatching it despite the flaws because its just that good.

1. Bradford has to be my favorite villain in any animated show EVER (or at least in the top 5 somewhere)... Because doesn't see himself as a villain, and not in the usual „I do evil things, but I cover up by saying it is good yet I know it is evil". No. He LITERALLY thinks a 100% that what he is doing by captureing Scrooge - and ending adventureing - IS a good thing. (I mean he isn't WRONG tbf)... ... Like even when literal bad guys (mainly Magica) tells him this even then he is adamant in his thinking. -> and gets turned into her valture from the OG show... Her brother. 2. Others have pointed out already, but I LOVE how they incorporated Daisy's nieces (April, May, June) into the reboot so seamlessly... And they even get to travel with Daisy (and Donald) so thats a fun plus

LikeCat

I adore Bradford as a villain, and not just for the "How do you think Della found out you built the Spear of Selene?" line. He's convinced he's the hero, trying to bring an end to chaos itself, and is convinced Scrooge and his adventures are the biggest cause. And he's not exactly wrong. It's an interesting conflict that's still about good vs evil without being totally black and white. In other words, he's the way you right an interesting nuisanced villain that Disney has been failing to do in their movies for over a decade.

AlwaysComfyCat

I'm surprised it took that long to realize that Webby had swapped places with June, even after she referred to Webby as June. Also, April, May, and June are the names of Daisy's nieces, the girl counterparts of the triplets in some media. So having Donald take them on vacation with Daisy is a great way to tie it all together.

AlwaysComfyCat

Her name is Black Heron, but yes, I love that part too. One last laugh.

AlwaysComfyCat

And in the end, we find out Launchpad saved the day clear back in the pilot.

David Johnson

I’m surprised you didn’t recognize manny the horse’s voice actor. Keith David Aka husk from Hazbin hotel. He was actually referencing an animated Disney afternoon show from the 90s called gargoyles where he also voiced Goliath from that show. I love gargoyles and Hazbin Hotel. So hearing him voice manny in the last adventure Ducktales finale clearly referencing gargoyles with the gargoyles soundtrack in the background is just perfection.

Maggie Ray

I love Red Herring; betrayed and thrown into a sphere of annihilation and she's just turned on by how evil that is.

Tyrant-Den

Manny's "I live again!" is an Easter Egg for Disney's show "Gargoyles" - they even got Keith David to reprise his role as Goliath from that show. "How is that flying?" Launchpad is really, really, really good at piecing that plane back together by now...

David Johnson

Also, side thought. He killed Bentley and Buford without a second of hesitation. Even if they were just his clones, he worked with them for 30 years! There's something philosophically sociopathic about that, I think.

Rachel Espiritu

All season, Bradford was a D-tier villain to me. So he's a businessman who wants to race to ancient artifacts. That just makes him a slightly smarter Glomgold, but also less entertaining. Even after the Sword of Swanstantine transformation, he looked as imposing as Magica and Lunaris, but still a C+ at best. But then he said The Line. "How do you think Della found out you built the Spear of Selene?" Instantly, most reviled villain ever, top of the charts, SSS-tier evil. Every bit of pain this family has gone through, all the struggles of the first two seasons, it's ALL because of him. Other villains are a threat, but he did a decade's worth of emotional damage that can never be undone. With one line, he shot up to a top ten villain in Disney's entire history IMO, up there with the likes of Ursula and Scar.

Rachel Espiritu

1. April may and june are daisy's nieces in the original everything. There's a show called "Legend of the Three Caballeros" that got april may and june as supporting characters 2. They needed a lot of gum to fix that plane 3. I love that everything came together perfectly. They refrenced the past episodes and the original show and disney afternoon very well. 4. Manny is voiced by keith david he did dr facilier in the princess and the frog and king andrias from amphibia also he voiced a character in hazbin hotel but manny here was based of another disney afternoon show called gargoyles where keith david voiced the main character Goliath. 5. Every person we see in the scene where launchpad was inspired to put on the gizmoduck armor, they were all people launchpad inspired or helped them become heroes. If you remember the episodes the depths of cousin fethry and house of the lucky gander, launchpad went on an off screen adventure to see an old girlfriend the writers wanted launchpad to have ex girlfriends from all around the world that launchpad just helps them sometimes when he's around 6. They broke the library to three sections, the first is the magic wing where there's a statue of manny and the magic people fought. The second is the hero wing where the superheroes fought and then there's the roof with the broken sphere and the solego circuit 7. Penny and della are part cannon there's a valentine chibby where they hold hands 8. David tennent was the only actor who knew webby is scrooge's daughter cause the directors and creators knew he wont let that ruin his performance 9. The ottoman empire series finale was forshadowing the whole "family is the greatest adventure of all" when they said "family is the greatest foot stool of all" 10. When they reveal the room where webby finds the papyrus, they did a banana pan which is a very difficult shot to do, they worked only on the layout of that room for a pretty long time 11. Ducktales is a show with unlimited budget they got lin manuel miranda to play fenton, don cheadle to play normal voice donlad, smooth animation, all i do is win when it was popular, crazy crazy shots and martin freeman as poe de spell for around 2-5 minutes Sorry for the long comment i got carried away cause i love this show so so much. Thank you for reading

For your question about family dynamics at the end there, in my case, I do have divorced parents, and honestly...I think they get along way better after the divorce than before it. My life was also barely impacted since dad worked in another city anyway and even had his own flat there. It was kinda funny actually, since when mum and dad were about to break the news, they expect me and my brother to be devastated, but instead we were all "Okay, makes sense," and didn't make a big deal of it at all...which kinda baffled the two of them. Dad remarried sometime later, but mum had stayed single. I lived mostly with my mum but went to stay with dad occasionally, mostly on weekends or holidays. Now I got my own place with parents visiting me occasionally...mostly mum, but dad does show up too every now and then.

Honestly, I've never noticed that she wears makeup (despite how much she talks about having to redo it in so many videos)

Lee Goldberg

Been waiting for this. I'm excited to see your reaction to Bradford's Who do you think told Della? Line.
