Ducktales s3 ep22 The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!

It's interesting how they don't shy away from putting Scrooge's darker deeds on full display here, even showing that not ALL his money was made square. True, what happened to the villains was mostly their fault, but Scrooge didn't exactly help matters. At the very least, he had no reason not to stop Poe, the one person Magica ever cared about, from flying away forever. And instead, he took the villager's gold for himself, then exploited the ones who had been turned into goats for their milk, which is all kinds of wrong. 🤢 The way he tells Magica that "her family was slowing her down" really shows the kind of person he was before Donald and Della came along. Not truly evil, but he could be just as ruthless as his adversaries. A grim reminder that NO ONE gets to be that rich without stepping on a few heads. 😔

I really love this episode. Not only does Louie FINALLY learn to take responsibility, but it's a nice way to have one last encounter with Scrooge's main three enemies since the old comics, and give them some more backstory. Yes, it's a little frustrating that they blame Scrooge when they're all at least partially at fault, but they're the villains. That's the point, and it's what truly separates Scrooge from their level.
