Best of TNG Season 3 Still to Come? (PATRON TAKES S3E9&10)

Comments

Not even in the Top 10 according to thefortressofhelixity

I totaly agree with you Jovet. With only 4 episodes, the reactor misses so much I don't see the point

C_Drew

@KatWithAttitude We all do. But "only 4" is pathetic. You watch it, or you don't.

Jovet

I know exactly who you mean.

KatWithAttitude

I’ve said it on the YouTube comments already this season, but another youtuber is watching 4 episodes per season to prepare for the tng movies and is letting her PATREON members vote through several rounds of elimination to get those 4 episodes per season (which always includes the extra bonus of the season Ender and opener two parter), but for season 3 recently all four episodes chosen were from the second half of the season. Let that sink in, Alex and Josh.

Bagofsoup

I'm almost worried they might do ...something... in their pants!

Jovet

They will totally lose their shit.

Jovet

I hear it in my dreams. It speaks to me.

Steven Johnson

You needn't worry about raising the bar, you already know you're right.

Josh Eversole

There are some episodes coming up where I think you guys will pop so loud I'll hear it in Texas. It'll be a nice Monday evening and then BAM! And I will hear the theme song faintly "Alex and Josh..."

Brian Moore

While Season 3 is deninately backloaded as a whole, a lot of the difference in top 5 or top 10 is just subjective preference. "The Defector" isn't in my season 3 top 10, but I would rate it an A-/B+ episode no better than "Booby Trap" or "The Hunted" that I enjoyed more than you did. It may well end up in your season end top 5, but there are at least a couple episodes I think you will love even more

I feel like some people really set expectations way too high when talking about season 3 and beyond. This is still a TV show with 26 episodes per season. There are going to be terrible episodes in every season when you have that many episodes. Putting out 26 great episodes in such a short period of time is not reasonable. Imagine if Breaking Bad had 26 episodes per season. Even Vince Gilligan would be putting out filler at that point. We'd have full episodes about Hank going to mineral shows.

Season 3 is my favorite only because it is the “bridge” season between 2 and 4. Meaning it still has a slightly plot-oriented way of telling stories, yet starting to weave in more character-driven drama. The music is melodic and exciting, the new look and style of the show is now there. If seasons 1-2 had a baby with 4-7, I think this is what you’d get. Michael Piller took over the show, so yes, there are a few hits and misses, but without any spoilers, you can see them getting it together in the second half of season 3, and I think thats what fans are focused on. The rest of the season will be a rollercoaster. Get ready for some excitement, and yes, even some tears.

Yes, indeed...... episodes I often call "supernova" (in the writing, directing, production and acting combined) are at hand. Josh and Alex: Q said it best in "Q-Who?" ..... The hall's been rented, the orchestra engaged: now it's time to see if you can DANCE. I will only say that the episodes I consider "supernova" are music to everyone's senses - you guys will HAPPILY dance, I wager..... without even trying.

Rhett Coates

Exactly

Miguel A. Moreta

That's the spirit. Who's with us?

Numinous2019

S7 has two episodes I HATE and avoid watching. So, "later" isn't always "better" for sure. (And neither is probably that episode everyone is thinking, though I don't care for it much either, but I don't HATE it.)

Jovet

I stay here to see them broken!! 🤦

Jovet

Guys, while there is still greatness to come, there will always be the random sub-par episode here and there. Even the remainder of this season still has, at least, 3 episodes that I hesitate to rewatch.

Miguel A. Moreta

My wife will cut the eye holes for the hoods.

Juan Tutrífor

Heh. Y'all inserted the best scene in JP3. I see you.

Juan Tutrífor

Alex & Josh are thinking for themselves, instead of falling in line. It's time to grab a pitchfork and torch. We'll meet at the old windmill at 10pm. Gotta teach them both a lesson before their reactions diverge from the consensus.

Numinous2019

That comment broke them

JGoss

2:55 I doubt she believed anyone could be on to her and that she would be stopped.

Jovet

I think you are going to find out Monday.....

Monty Crawford

P-Stew is a man of many talents. I know you don't check links, but you might want to try this one. No spoilers, but here he is in his Starfleet uniform singing and dancing on the bridge of the Enterprise-D: https://youtu.be/iHKSYGYP4a0?si=8xno0iiGt9Ynma5m I don't think this is a spoiler, but I was just looking through the list of episodes in Season 4, and I count at least 14 that have at least some level of a reference to a previous episode. and three more this season.

KatWithAttitude

The villains looking smart without the heroes looking dumb is a tough line to walk, and many, many shows other that ST have failed at it!

tyranusfan

So much for the expectations game. But yeah, Anthony et al are right. As Troi said in The Price, anticipation can be nice.

Paul Hess

absolutely the best is to come. soon. oh so soon.

David Marcoot

I think the 6 superior episodes left shout by Anthony Bernacchi is a fair one. There are some very strong episodes coming up and a few all-time classics.

Menty

Patrick Stewart did a lot of Shakespeare in theatre before ST

Silk

Wow, you have me in the thumbnail! I thought there was a good chance you guys would read my comment, but I never expected it to have such an impact. I hope I haven't affected your enjoyment of Season 3 by raising your expectations for the remaining episodes.

Anthony Bernacchi
