lol Yeah, Shonen Jump and isekai do pull most of the focus. But you are right that there's a lot more variety now than there used to be, which is always good. Hell, one of the biggest shows this season is technically an idol anime. The downside is that the less popular titles are sometimes held together with chewing gum. I don't know how much you look into the behind-the-scenes stuff, but the industry is not especially stable right now. There's no easy fix, but maybe one day we'll only have 20-ish new series a season and the cute slice of life baseball anime will still be uwu without such wonky animation. ^_^

yeaaaaaaa so many of my faves each season get forgotten to the outpouring of new series every 3 months but honestly while it can get overwhelming im kinda glad theres so much just because really there IS so much variety (even within the increase of isekai theres variety WITHIN the isekai lmaoo) so even tho some seasons theres less things im interested in, i do notice new studios and new types of stories being adapted that arent super popular and im like distantly glad for those who get to enjoy those shows. But i totally get what you mean, especially when theres seasons where theres three popular shonen demo mega hits and then 2 new shonen manga hit getting first seasons and then these long title isekai everyone overhypes so most people who follow whats popular already have a full queue and then im just over here like "can yall plz watch my cute slice of life baseball anime with the wonky animation cause its uwu?"

Overwhelming is EXACTLY how I'd describe it. I think anyone who's been watching anime long enough to see the rise of streaming and simulcasts has probably felt like there are way too many series to keep up with. Like, I stayed away from seasonal anime as best as I could until 2015 when the hype culture took over, and it's only gotten worse since then. It's a shame too, because I see so many people more interested in discussing a new show that they don't really care about than watching something older that they'd probably love. That's why I always love seeing you giving attention to more than just what's trending. P.S. Not trying to come off as anti-new anime, just that I hate seeing older ones that mean a lot to me becoming irrelevant.

Yeah same I can see it not getting dubbed. It has happened with other stuff I believe. I’m not really a dub guy either but it was something I noticed. It’ll suck for sure for the small amount of dub onlies who did watch season one

I always try to stay mixed with what im watching between new and old i could never do just one or the other #bisexuallifestyleproblemsiguess. I used to basically have this schedule where i had my daily seasonal anime and then i would watch something older every day of the week so like monday-kyoukai no kanata, tuesday-kuroko no basket, wednesday-kekkai sensen and etc with a mix of rewatches and just series in my queue i hadnt seen that were completed but then with time that became overwhelming and when i missed days it would fuck my life up and then if some things werent that interesting then itd feel like a chore watching them cause the monday show would be more interesting than the thursday show or whatever LMAO - SO NOW i have this system called "active and passive" where i have usually 1 older show im watching for the first time/rewatching that i watch while i eat during the day (passive) that i have a mild interest in and then i have a show that i have a strong interest in that i watch at the end of the day when im chillin along with seasonals (active). This has been the most beneficial format for me atm

oh thats right, i remember seeing a behind the scenes clip of it when season 1 aired thats so weird. I wouldnt be surprised if it didnt unfortunately, im not a dub person obvi but it for sure isnt a hit with english speakers UNFORTUNATELY so i could see it not getting the dub love T.T

I peaked at your MAL and noticed that, aside from Beyblade: Metal Fury, all the shows you're watching are new. How often would you say you seek out older anime you passed on before, or rewatch ones you loved in the past? I ask because I try to always be watching at least 1 or 2 things that aren't brand new. Like, even if I find a new show decently entertaining, I might still drop it in favor of something from my plan to watch list. Do you still check out new old things or are you all-in on seasonal anime?

RobinHoodSnoutMan

Another noticeable thing about mix is Season one was simuldubbed and Season 2 isn’t. Perhaps they’ll dub it down the road but who knows since it could be they don’t want to bother if no one cares.
