two mismatched stories in 1 episode only at the very end does the A and B plot briefly tie in together

If you are ever looking for a "so bad it's hysterically funny" movie to watch, I highly recommend Agent from H.A.R.M. starring Peter Mark Richman.

Yeah, they've won the World Series twice since the mid 90s.

This feels like Roddenberry's unwillingness to let go of the 'Yankee Trader' contrast to the Enterprise Crew (after the Ferengi fizzled). It also feels like two scripts jammed together. I've been told there was a writer's strike, but this is an anaemic episode to end season 1 on. It doesn't do either story element justice and it amounts to 'Stay Tuned'.

Well I'm coming from the good old 20th century... and compared to its second half, this 21st century doesn't impress me much so far...

He missed out because he was frozen before they turned it around. I bet he was amazed when he looked up the statistics. lol

There's a lot to look down on in current times, to be fair. :)

You guys keep criticizing how the 24th century talks down on us... while I get what you mean in terms of the show, I'd like to remind you of our current society and how it looks at it's past.. just look at how some groups these days talk about people hundreds of years ago from now...

Funny. The Braves. The Atlanta Braves? The Atlanta Braves were a terrible team for a long time when this was filmed in 1988. Then they became one of the most dominant teams since 1991. The Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves were the two teams that all or most Americans with cable could watch back then as they both had their own cable television stations, TBS and WGN. I guess they chose one of those two teams as they probably thought many Americans might be familiar them.
