I don't think you guys will read since this is an older post but, since this post is pinned, every time I click on the patreon channel I get this picture. I never know if I am being pointed at as a jack-hole OR I'm about to be given the bird lol

2024-01-30 23:50:22 +0000 UTCI'm waiting to see how they handle watching TNG and DS9 when the seasons overlap

2024-01-26 16:38:05 +0000 UTCLike we say in the video we are focusing on Star Trek right now. BSG, Farscape, Babylon 5 & more are all options once we either can do this full time or finish Star Trek Enterprise
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-22 20:21:27 +0000 UTCDude, don't let them hear you. They'll wait until 2044.

2024-01-18 23:33:51 +0000 UTCYou may have addressed this in the past and I missed it but are you still planning to watch Battlestar Galactica the 2004 version? I know in the past you were going to get to this eventually.
Mike S. aka Peaky Blinder
2024-01-18 22:13:21 +0000 UTCI mean it would take something like 37 days of straight watching 24/7 to get through all of Star Trek from TOS up to now...so taking a few years certainly seems reasonable lol
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:52:33 +0000 UTCI mean there is an argument to be made they wont feel and appreciate and experience Picard etc the same way we did with like a 20 year gap for that character lol
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:49:48 +0000 UTCJesus, I did not realize people are using classic Trek for TNG etc
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:47:04 +0000 UTCBoth the original and Galactica 1980 are fever dreams and better forgotten and ignored
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:45:00 +0000 UTC100%, so say we all
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:43:56 +0000 UTCHow is the theatrical better? the Directors cut simply adds in a mere 3 mins of extra context and background info.
Derek Orr
2024-01-18 18:43:07 +0000 UTCDisagree! The theatrical version is superior.

2024-01-18 05:34:24 +0000 UTCglad to see more star trek - just don't get burnt out on it, i know even too much of a good thing can start to get old

2024-01-13 17:12:02 +0000 UTCI think it would be a good idea for you to do a Patreon poll on which version of Star Trek VI to watch, as you did with Star Trek II. Of course, that won't be until early next year anyway.
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-01-13 15:36:01 +0000 UTCWhen you guys do the reaction to Star Trek VI, which I know it will not be for a long while, just an FYI, there are two versions of the movie: the original theatrical version and the Director's Cut. It would be great if y'all reacted to the Director's Cut of the movie when y'all get to that point. The theatrical version of the movie is 110 minutes, while the Director's Cut, which contains additional scenes, is 3 minutes longer. In addition, also, in regards to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and your reactions to the movie, there is also a Director's Cut of the movie, which has three minutes of additional scenes that was not featured in the original theatrical version of the movie. Since y'all have reacted to the theatrical version of the movie, it would be total awesomeness if you guys did a reaction to the Director's Cut of the movie. Live long and prosper. 🖖

2024-01-12 16:36:54 +0000 UTCI keep pondering how we are going to get you two to a Trek Convention-but-it would be nothing but spoilers so maybe we can't..?

2024-01-11 20:44:11 +0000 UTCWhen we reach them in release order, so Star Trek V will be this year during season 2
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-05 19:06:37 +0000 UTCAre you doing the 2 TOS movies? V would be done now basically and VI in a bit. There are a couple of good interviews on production and BTS. It will be interesting to see how the post original Twilight Zone looks.
Gail Seaton Humbert
2024-01-05 18:56:49 +0000 UTCYeah the series is best started with episode 1 , revisit the pilot with the movies after the series
Scarpad’s Domain
2024-01-04 15:36:25 +0000 UTCOf course yeah, I had never made the connection that VI was so late on in the TNG run!
Carl Davies
2024-01-04 11:55:23 +0000 UTCI'm also old enough to remember when the term "Classic Trek" referred exclusively to TOS. In fact, I don't think my late mother and I ever referred to TOS in conversation as "TOS," only as "Classic Trek." It was disorienting for me to realize that people use "Classic Trek" now to mean everything through Enterprise.
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-01-04 05:15:20 +0000 UTCI saw "The Gathering" on its original broadcast, and I didn't like it either. I never got into the series after that, but, of course, it's well-known to be a masterpiece.
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-01-04 05:12:33 +0000 UTCYeah. Also, Paramount publicly announced that "Spock would live again" in press releases... before Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan premiered (Spock's death had been widely reported during filming, so it was an open secret amount trekkies.)
Ian Westcott
2024-01-04 00:52:56 +0000 UTCYup, in between episodes 18 and 19 of Season 2. Star Trek VI occurs between episodes 9 and 10 of Season 5.
Ian Westcott
2024-01-04 00:45:36 +0000 UTCLove your enthusiasm, energy and just keeping it real..Two guys a person could just hang with and watch a show together.. and your patience - Most Trek conventions I went too there was always that guy that gets to the mic to ask the guest star why they pushed the green button in episode 8 when they always pushed the blue one previous..? Trekdom is such a wide gambit of personalities and views and you two are surfing the waters with ease. Here is to the best 2024 for everyone!!!

2024-01-02 22:52:54 +0000 UTCIm loving the TNG reactions guys, keep them coming, but when are you going to do Star Trek 5 and 6?
Carl Davies
2024-01-02 22:26:30 +0000 UTCAudiences in the past did not place as much importance on avoiding spoilers as they do nowadays. For example, the original novelization of "The Empire Strikes Back" by Donald F. Glut was published, complete with the revelation of Darth Vader's identity, on April 12, 1980, *5 weeks and 4 days* before the release of the movie. There would be riots around the world if something like that happened now. I myself read the DC Comics adaptations of Star Trek VI and the TNG series finale, and the Pocket Books novelization of the DS9 pilot, prior to seeing the films/episodes. It was not vitally important to me between the ages of 12 and 15 to experience those stories completely fresh in the moment; rather, I valued my prior knowledge of the storylines so that I could appreciate the fine details in the screen productions without being distracted by wondering what was going to happen next.

2024-01-02 19:03:23 +0000 UTCA fun one-off video may be seeking out the various Season 1 episode trailers that aired back in the day. Some started getting suggested to me on Youtube and you'd be surprised just how much spoiling of plots is in there. Like Skin of Evil tells you someone's going to die, and even shows Tasha as one possibility. So watching all that back then you wouldn't be surprised when Klingons showed up, for example. It's fun to just spot the spoilers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIchSe-yMhE

2024-01-02 14:38:15 +0000 UTCGuys, as much as I enjoy your ST work, don't be afraid to take a break from it if you need to........obviously not too long a break, but all the same don't burn yourselves out on it either.

2024-01-02 06:13:29 +0000 UTCI estimate at the current rate you'll catch up to 2023 in 2034. Looking at it that way, it's amazing just how much Trek there is to watch
Mosquito_Wenzi
2024-01-02 06:02:49 +0000 UTC“Whatever it this is” sounds fun! Looking forward to more content from you guys!

2024-01-02 06:00:41 +0000 UTCAt the current pace, I think we'd be looking at Picard 3 in 2034.

2024-01-02 03:39:56 +0000 UTCI enjoyed that 1990-1991 Dark Shadows. I was a fan of the daytime soap opera as a kid. Shame they cancelled it, especially since there were some unresolved plot lines, as I recall.
Collin Freeman
2024-01-02 03:37:59 +0000 UTCI would vote for that. The 1st season was awesome. The 2nd season was basically a poor retread of season 1.
Collin Freeman
2024-01-02 03:36:57 +0000 UTCYes. Me, too. It was a Friday night must-see for me when I was in 4th grade.
Collin Freeman
2024-01-02 03:35:05 +0000 UTCI'd like to advocate for two Horror shows. Might not make the cut due to dates and format though....but consider them just going forward. NIGHT GALLERY from '69. Created by the writer of THE TWILIGHT ZONE and ran three seasons. And also DARK SHADOWS (revival) from the 90's. One season, abruptly cancelled due to Desert Shield or Desert Storm messing with broadcast.
Michael Nemo
2024-01-02 02:03:20 +0000 UTCAlso, please don't mention TOS when talking about TOS episodes... :P
Michael Nemo
2024-01-02 01:52:23 +0000 UTCmy only suggestion is to react to star trek continues. its a fantastic continuation to the original series. its pretty short 11 episodes and available on youtube.

2024-01-02 01:33:50 +0000 UTCTo not be able to binge watch Star Trek, but to have to stretch it out over eight years, would drive me crazy!!!

2024-01-02 01:11:46 +0000 UTCThat is a great one. The forerunner to the X files. I watched every episode when first aired.
Monty Crawford
2024-01-01 22:19:19 +0000 UTCIndeed. Wife and I just binge watched the entire series a couple of months ago. First time watching it. We loved it.
Monty Crawford
2024-01-01 22:18:05 +0000 UTCI can't speak highly enough of the 2003 BSG. I wouldn't want to watch it in place of a Star Trek season, but I'd love to see it visited at some down the line.

2024-01-01 21:41:21 +0000 UTCOh bummer. I was hoping you would try Twin Peaks this year. Oh well, perhaps I will just have to watch it again on my own.

2024-01-01 19:55:11 +0000 UTCStar Trek V will be this year, during TNG season 2
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 19:29:25 +0000 UTCI want them to just sit down, turn the webcam on, and binge the entire series, 18 hours a day. I'm down for that.... I can take off from work.
Tom Occhipinti
2024-01-01 19:26:31 +0000 UTCYes, they'll get through everything around the 23rd century.... for real.
Tom Occhipinti
2024-01-01 19:25:12 +0000 UTCBabylon 5 is epic. I think our duo watched "The Gathering," but didn't seem overly impressed, if I'm not mistaken. And I'm not surprised. Like TNG, it took some time for B5 to find its tone.
Tom Occhipinti
2024-01-01 19:24:16 +0000 UTCThey're going in release order, they'll get to them eventually.
Cameron Thacker
2024-01-01 19:23:46 +0000 UTCThey're watching everything in release order. So, for Trek V, that would be toward the end of TNG Season 2 reactions. Then, for Trek VI, somewhere in the middle of TNG Season 4 reactions.
Tom Occhipinti
2024-01-01 19:22:29 +0000 UTC3 seasons in 2024.... great.... There are a ton of great episodes in those 3 seasons. And yet.... that means we have to wait until 2025 for you to react to soooo many OTHER great episodes. I'm 57. I think I'll by 95 by the time you get to Picard Season 3. Everyone.... remember... NO SPOILERS. I don't think we should even tell them which the great episodes are. Let the episodes come as they come.
Tom Occhipinti

2024-01-01 18:42:07 +0000 UTCFor the longest time I didn’t understand reaction videos. Didn’t get it, didn’t understand the point. But now I realise it’s like showing your favourite TV show to a friend. Loving the channel guys, takes me back to 88 when I watched S1 the first time as a 10 year old. l’m here for the long haul.

2024-01-01 18:21:53 +0000 UTCBattlestar Galactica 1980 is a fever dream. It never happened. Classic Mandela Effect.

2024-01-01 17:28:36 +0000 UTCWould they though? It is irrelevant to BSG reboot

2024-01-01 17:01:09 +0000 UTCI think BSG would be a better choice

2024-01-01 17:00:19 +0000 UTCOur current schedule will literally not allow us to watch more.
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 16:55:27 +0000 UTCYes. That’s why option 1 would be much more preferable lol
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 16:54:51 +0000 UTCThanks for the response, but I was born in 71. Classic Trek to me was TOS. Can I assume you mean everything until the end of TNG movies and Star Trek: Enterprise? That would be six more movies and twenty four seasons of shows. At three seasons a year, that will be eight years. That’s a tall order, but I’ll be here for it.
startrekiborg
2024-01-01 16:39:30 +0000 UTCThe problem you’ll face soon is that TNG gets seriously addictive in the upcoming seasons, so you may be tempted to watch more. I think 2 a week is the right pace.
Paul Rymer
2024-01-01 16:37:25 +0000 UTCIt’s one of the top options to check out once we either 1. Are able to do this full time or 2. Finish Classic Trek

2024-01-01 16:26:47 +0000 UTCIt’s one of the top options to check out once we either 1. Are able to do this full time or 2. Finish Classic Trek
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 16:26:29 +0000 UTCWe won’t be doing reactions to these shows, so owning the physical copies isn’t as important. Slightly familiar with the 80s Twilight Zone, but when we do cover that franchise, we would probably do a dedicated series covering every iteration of the Twilight Zone
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 16:24:48 +0000 UTC2 episodes per week means 11-13 weeks per season, 2/3 weeks for postseason wrap up and small break = 14/15 weeks per season. 52 weeks a year means we can fit 3 seasons with a bit of breathing room
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-01-01 16:21:46 +0000 UTCI think for the best experience with the new BSG, they should see where Trek was as a franchise in the years leading up to it, especially since RDM wrote so heavily for Trek and DS9 in particular.
Nolan
2024-01-01 16:20:27 +0000 UTCYou mentioned that you're not looking back to the era of the original Twilight Zone, but there was a superb revival of Twilight Zone in the 1980s which is now nearly forgotten. Its best episodes were fully up to the level of the original. Selected episodes are on YouTube (and I think they're there legally), but, unfortunately, I believe the whole series is only available on DVD (not Blu-ray), although it *does* seem to be in print and available on Amazon. Like TNG, the 80's Twilight Zone was shot on film but edited on video, meaning remastering it in HD would be extremely complicated and expensive, and, unlike TNG, the show isn't popular enough to justify the investment.
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-01-01 16:14:50 +0000 UTCIf you liked Battlestar Galactica 1978, you will love Battlestar Galactica 2003. Just watch the three hour 2003 mini series (which is essentially the opening of the show). If that doesn’t hook you for the show, which started in 2004, nothing will. They take the original concept and do it 20 times better, story and visual effects.
startrekiborg
2024-01-01 16:13:03 +0000 UTCBear in mind, due to their commitment to release order they would have to watch Galactica 1980 first.
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-01-01 16:09:09 +0000 UTC5:09 Just tossing out a couple examples that I grew up - Unsolved Mysteries, and The 90's Outer Limits. Also, I can't remember it but as I recall there was an anthology done by John Carpenter. That might be worth a closer work as its more obscure.
Steven Johnson
2024-01-01 15:53:47 +0000 UTCSecond! I still think a second pilot month might be good.
Steven Johnson
2024-01-01 15:43:25 +0000 UTCLooking forward to the TOS discussion videos! Seeing the ones you’ve done for TNG has really made me wish those existed.
James H
2024-01-01 15:41:12 +0000 UTCSounds like a plan. For horror TV series, I suggest looking at Kolchak with Darren McGavin from the early 1970s, and I highly recommend starting with the initial TV movie, The Night Stalker.
