Driving Miss Daisy is such a great movie. Really deserved winning that Best Picture Oscar.

2023-09-24 20:14:49 +0000 UTCThe episode feels like it is a bit of a rip-off of the movie Driving Miss Daisy which won the Best Picture Academy Award. However, that movie was released on December 15, 1989, while this episode was released a few months earlier on May 3, 1989. Driving Miss Daisy was apparently released as a play in 1987, so perhaps it was inspired by the play and not the movie. The actress who played Miss Melny was born in 1912 and was featured in the time-bending movie Somewhere in Time with Superman's Christopher Reeve and Battlestar Galactica's Jane Seymour.
