UNCUT REACTION - Star Trek TAS ep21 - How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth

Yeah, this one wasn't it. I just can't with how hypocritical and arrogant Kukulkan was. Like where you been for thousands of years? The fuck outta here. Don't need you, don't want you. We're violent but this guy is like "forget me again and I'll kill you all". What? I was also wondering at what point the novelty of the show would wear off. This is my second time through, and while the reactions are fun, the show itself is a slog. I do like that once again at the end of the ep, and this may just be a coincidence I'm assigning too much value to, but once again they're on their way to a starbase and in the vicinity of Earth. This is another hint to their 5 year mission ending in my mind, with the last episode being the last incident/assignment on the way back.

" they only introduced an indigenous American person just to use his culture in the episode" Thankfully, Trek never did that again

Hahahahaha!! Good one.

Kukulkan: "The violence of your kind surpasses even that of the power-cat." Also Kukulkan: "I WILL SMASH IT THIS TIME!"

As has been said by others, this episode is an obvious rehash of "Adonais". However, writer Russel Bates has stated that he doesn't see any similarities between the two stories.

Love the cat turning into cute kitty

"So many lingering shots of the Enterprise". The Motion Picture has entered the chat.

I agree with Collin Freeman in another post, way too much like the Adonais episode. Although his voice reminded me of Sargon from another episode. I was also a little annoyed that they only introduced an indigenous American person just to use his culture in the episode. Oh and there's only one Shakespeare line that everyone knows? Come on! I know it's just a cartoon...sorry, this episode really seemed to bug me. You still made me laugh though, thanks for that. 😀

I am one of those people who finds this episode to be too reminiscent of Who Mourns for Adonais. One of the weakest of TAS, in my opinion. However, the next one is probably my second favorite, right after Yesteryear. If you like Star Trek lore, the next episode will fit the bill.

Collin Freeman

I dunno. Always thought this story was pretty good. Also, the direction seems a bit more fluid in the second season.

I'm very excited to see you guys get into the movies

Before watching, I can already guess what you're going to think of the Kirk vs God storyline 😁

It's a nice bit of continuity that Bones was the one who knew about the Capellan power cat. As we know from "Friday's Child," Bones was once stationed on Capella IV for a few months.

This was the episode that won Star Trek it's first ever Emmy for best children's TV show. In the early 70's there were popular books by Erik Von Donikan like Chariots Of The Gods which started the whole ancient aliens thing. I really like this episode. Again, one of my early memories of the show was seeing the lizard creature. Many like the episode but many also point out the many similarities of this episode to Who Mourns For Adonis.
