The abandoned city was the site of Montreal’s Expo ‘67, the world’s fair that gave its name to the Montreal Expos.

The details from the original show that the reboot did added a lot. I usually don't like reboots from a classic series, but this one was an exception for me.

But definitely hope they see it before they do the reboot, if they do it.

The reboot was great but it did pull from the original show a lot more than most people realize. After seeing the original show and second series you'll notice some of the less obvious details.

PLEASE react to the 2004 BSG series. Great updated version of BSG, that in my opinion, surpasses the original.

I wouldn’t recommend going straight into 1980 without a gap, because you’d get motion sickness from the drop in quality. But it might be interesting to try after a break. I’d be up for a rewatch with Target Audience commentary.

This is a really good episode with lots of character action and development. It's also just plain fun. As you noted as the series progressed and got more on its feet the storylines got more cohesive. Basically this is a show about family starting with the Adama family and all the relations and friends in that circle. Really hoping you will continue with Galactica 1980. It is definitely not as good as BSG but it does have some interesting moments and ideas that you see pop up in the reboot series. There are some particularly notable episodes and one especially special episode. It's also only about half a season but would be fun to see your reactions.

Definitely 1 of my favorite episodes, second only to the Living Legend 2-parter. Hard to believe it will all be coming to an end soon. To answer your question, the network and studio did not plan for this series to only go for 1 season. They did not do that back then. It was cancelled mainly due to its high budget, which was considerable in the post-first Star Wars movie era compared to other series at the time. Josh: good catch on actor John Hoyt, the Council leader who played Dr. Boyce in The Menagerie/Cage and in Twilight Zone. He had quite a few roles over the years in both film and TV. Considering how much you both seem to like this series, I definitely recommend watching at least the pilot for the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series, maybe as a 1-shot viewing, and see how you like it. It's got differences, but the political intrigue quotient is considerably ratcheted up.

Collin Freeman

One of my top episodes also. You can't go wrong with Baltar... the Wile E. Coyote of Battlestar Galactica.
