EARLY ACCESS - More Tribbles, More Troubles! Star Trek The Animated Series REACTION (ep5)

Yes but the simple fact that the actual actors bothered coming in to do voice work on a show that was cancelled instead of having James Doohan etc cover all voices is quite remarkable. Using original actors too is most likely why the budget concerns were at the forefront even before the first day of voice recordings and supposedly the budget is the reason they were initially going to cut Nichelle Nichols and George Takei but Leonard Nimoy refused to work without them so Walter Koenig was cut instead. By the mid 70s Star Trek had its first convention as the show was in reruns becoming more popular than when it was on the air, these most likely convinced the original actors to come back as well as knowing almost all of the original crew of the Enterprise would be doing their own characters voices was a solid production not a Scooby-Doo or Looney Tunes cartoon type of show (at least not every episode as this one is pretty slapstick but it is a Tribble episode after all).

The writer David Gerrold also wrote the original Tribbles episode. At age 79, he is one of the few Star Trek original series people under the age of 80. I guess most of the others would be child actors like Clint Howard, age 64. I guess he was the first Star Trek fan author. David Gerrold also provided the story for The Cloud Minders and helped re-write the second Mudd episode. He had some type of hidden cameo in the first Star Trek movie and was one of the first people briefly brought back to help launch Star Trek: The Next Generation as a series.
