Bob Wesley was the commodore who outranked Kirk when he commanded the USS Lexington in the season 2 episode The Ultimate Computer and decided against destroying the USS Enterprise at the end that episode. He was voiced here by James Doohan. On the The Ultimate Computer episode he was played by Barry Russo who had earlier played the Enterprise's security chief Lieutenant Commander Giotto in the episode The Devil in the Dark. The other named Enterprise lieutenant commanders were McCoy, Scotty, Dr. Ann Mulhall, recorder officer Ben Finney who went insane, helmsmen Gary Mitchell who also went insane and died in the second pilot, and Spock who was technically a lieutenant commander for the first few episodes.
