Choose What Series We Watch This Summer!

After watching Star Trek TAS we will be watching the first 4 Star Trek movies over the summer. During this time we will be supplementing the movie reactions with also watching a short series. Please vote below for what show you would like us to watch. The reactions will be full uncut on Patreon & edited for YouTube.

If no option gets over 50% of the vote then we will run a new poll with the top 2 options next week.

Comments

Probably a fair assessment. I would be waiting for them to get to that 6 min space battle in 5x10...it was freaking awesome.

Kosh Naranek

I'm probably too late to the party, but "Chuck" is a great option for this list. Short first season, not reacted to much, and is just such a fun lovable show.

Lovok

I'm down for some Murder She Wrote :-)

Bret Kay

LOL so true! Even though I love OG Quantum Leap to death, I'm afraid they're gonna rip it to pieces. Twin Peaks is a visual and musical feast if you don't mind being endlessly trolled by David Lynch. The Expanse is an interesting choice.

Ian Ramsey

The guys like episodic shows that are different every week with strong character driven stories. Quantum Leap is exactly that. Not to mention Scott Bakula

Andreas Schmitt

Quantum Leap?!?! Really??? Why not MATLOCK then? Hey maybe MURDER SHE WROTE too!??!?! HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN? TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL??? Can't believe that show is winning.

Michael Nemo

or move to Expanse

AzoriusMage

Let’s save the guys some time and work having to create another poll. If you voted for one of the shows that is not getting many votes please change to Quantum Leap, Expanse or Twin Peaks since those seem to have the most support.

Jonathan

Ah I got ya, B5 I think you guys would dig seasons 2-4 is some of the best sci Fi on tv imho

Scarpad’s Domain

A runoff 😂💀

Josh (Target Audience)

We will be watching this while watching the Star Trek movies so we wanted it to be a shorter season. Babylon 5 season 1 is 22 episodes.

Josh (Target Audience)

Lobbying for the Expanse. Let's force a runoff, keep Quantum Leap under 50%

Ian C Johnson

Where’s Babylon 5?

Scarpad’s Domain

They seem to like other shows created by Joss Whedon. Therefore, it stands to reason they'd like his best effort.

Ross43

Since I'm currently rewatching QUANTUM LEAP, I went with that.

MntrTodd

Star Trek VI should go before TNG season 5.

JD Nevesytrof

You guys should check out a series called Jericho. It only ran 2 seasons but it's a great show.

Katie Jackson

Appreciate what you’re saying but, we are going to watch in release order. It’s like one of our only rules.

Josh (Target Audience)

Agreed @Jay McGinnis. After what we just went through with Buffy, it's clear that the choice needs to be a "Good Fit" for content provider AND consumer. As you decide, consider what these guys would like to review based on their past comments of other shows. Otherwise, it will become a chore for everyone. Emotional connections to the characters are often the hook for most fans but that will not be enough for them and that's a good thing. Choose wisely.

Ian Ramsey

The first season of True Detective is very, very good, but the story, characters, and tone are extremely dark.

Nerd's Gold

I love the expanse but I do not believe you guys would like it. It is SLOOOOWWW! The main draw is its realist take on future space life and I don't get that as a draw for you too.

Prof Moff

It's the least noteworthy of all the choices. Very disappointing. I don't think QL would even make it on to my top 50 list of shows they really need to see. Oh well.

Ken R

That would be the proper order of release. Though if I was to make the suggestion I'd say just watch the six movies, and then go to TNG. One era ends and another begins, and the six movies form a tangential "whole." It would make for a cleaner viewing experience.

Steven Johnson

Quantum Leap. Breaking Bad is probably the best series, but you would have to watch the entire series, not just one season; plus there are already tons of reactions to it.

Jay McGinnis

I mean you would know better than us lol

Josh (Target Audience)

So... viewing order would be... Star Trek 1 2 3 4, TNG season 1, 2, 3, Star Trek V, TNG 4 5, Star Trek VI, TNG 6 7? Something like that?

Steven Johnson

This right here.

Steven Johnson

Yep. In a lot of ways its a natural extension of the same types of stories TOS was good at telling. The expanse is great too, though. I just think if they're going to do another Science Fiction (As much as I want them to do Babylon 5 *snarl grumble*), an Earth bound show would probably contrast better with Star Trek.

Steven Johnson

QL for me. But if QL wins I'll vote Expanse next month

Andreas Schmitt

Good call!

Firekrys FWO

I wouldn’t be opposed to them watching the pilot if they do another pilot month to see if they like it. I’d love to get a reactor to watch the 100 greatest episode list out of context to see if they agree.

Jonathan

I have an idea, the audience the guys got for TOS really aligns closely to people who loved and love original Quantum Leap, the two shows really aren't very spiritually different.

JD Nevesytrof

Yes

Josh (Target Audience)

I'm hoping you mean the ORIGINAL Quantum Leap?

Neil Wagoner

Maybe they want to see some range of Scott Bakula's acting skills before eventually watching Star Trek Enterprise

Brad Barter

Looks like Quantum Leap is a front runner. ugh 😩

StealthMomo

No idea why QL is winning

AzoriusMage

Come on Expanse

AzoriusMage

Twin Peaks is the obvious choice here. It was a major groundbreaking show by an official film artiste and helped pave the way for a lot of changes in TV we now take for granted . BB has been called the best tv show of all time but that seems very typical to react to. Expanse is called the new BSG, so just go with BSG. The Boys seems like something too much in your wheelhouse. QL, I don't know, it's no Twin Peaks.

Ken R

There are a bunch of reactors starting the Expanse this Summer if Quantum Leap wins you would be the first to react to it.

Jonathan

1/3 of all TVs were tuned into the 2-hour pilot episode of Twin Peaks going up against NBC's juggernaut Cheers. It received 14 Emmy nominations for its 1st season. The pilot is ranked 25th on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time in 1997 and the 1st season is ranked on many best lists. Non-sequiturs, black humor, amazing score - the whole country was talking about it and there were watch parties everywhere. I can tell it's not going to win this poll, but if you want to see groundbreaking TV, the 8 episodes of the 1st season of Twin Peaks is the call.

Ross43

Wow, Quantum Leap? That's another one I haven't seen since I was a kid.

Firekrys FWO

The Expanse is incredible, I really hope it wins

Phillip Grischa

Incredibly pleased but shocked to see QL is running in front!

JD Nevesytrof

Quantum Leap is the only one of these I've ever watched. I have no interest in the others.

KatWithAttitude

Yes

Josh (Target Audience)

Cmon Quantum Leap, Let's go. How come only the first four? Is that because TNG starts in between IV and V?
