PATREON EXCLUSIVE VIDEO - Josh talks about Star Wars
Added 2023-05-04 19:00:04 +0000 UTCMAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!
Back in 2019, I watched the original Star Wars trilogy for the first time, and on my YouTube channel at that time I posted a series of videos discussing the 3 trilogies. My thoughts on my first time watching the originals, rewatching the prequels, and my extensive thoughts on the Disney trilogy.
Since I still had these sitting on my computer I figured I would put them all together into one video in honor of May the 4th! So, if you'd like you can check out over an hour of me talking about Star Wars. Spoilers for all the movies obviously.
Thank you for being a Patron & enjoy!

Very interesting responses to the nine SW films. It does matter in what order and when someone first sees them. I think Rian Johnson was trying to bring meaningful development to the SW franchise, for the first time since 'TESB', instead of just playing out variations and tying up loose ends. But he also undermined this by having basic failures of essential common sense in how the story framework worked out. And I mean BASIC failures. So, on the level of themes, he deserves respect. On the level of storytelling though, problematic.

2023-05-05 02:37:22 +0000 UTCI have no idea if this was the thinking behind the yellow lightsaber, but yellow light is a combination of red and green, so maybe it’s a fusion of Palpatine and Skywalker, Sith and Jedi? 🤷♂️ The only thing missing from these videos is Alex saying, “Yeah, I can’t really add anything to that.”

2023-05-05 00:23:53 +0000 UTCwhat would have been great if I had thought of it. You guys reacting to the Family Guy parody of the original Star Wars trilogy. The First one is Blue Harvest. It is great. Wish I would have thought of it before the Forth that is now no longer with you but behind you

2023-05-04 22:18:55 +0000 UTCThe second death star was a result of how the movies got made. It's destruction was originally always planned for the third movie. But Lucas didn't know if he'd be able to make three movies, and he needed an exciting ending for the first in case he wouldn't get to make a trilogy. So it ended up in both movies, which I agree is kind of stupid

2023-05-04 21:11:36 +0000 UTCReturn of the Jedi has actually always been my favorite of the three even though empire is probably objectively the better movie. And I know plenty of fans who love return of the jedi the most

2023-05-04 21:04:00 +0000 UTCLukes Vision took me a while to understand. Seeing himself under the mask was foreshadowing both that he's not ready for learning that his father is under there AND that he is at risk of suffering the same fate and becoming Vader himself.

2023-05-04 21:01:32 +0000 UTCI get your reaction to yodas goofyness but that had a reason and purpose. He was acting like that to see if Luke had Patience or not. When they are in the Hut and he reveals who he is, his entire deneanor changes. And that change, realizing who this green creature actually is was always my favorite moment in SW. Going in already knowing that yoda is the jedi Master Luke is looking for probably makes the Initial goofyness confusing

2023-05-04 20:58:35 +0000 UTCThe Disney stuff does not exist in my universe, and it isn't Star Wars without R2 and Lucas. We knocked the prequels when they came out but they were still SW and Lucas knows fundamental storytelling (you gotta have a romance as an example). Disney destroyed it and even the tv shows aren't SW. Where is the high fantasy, swashbuckling action? Why does all new sci-fi stuff insist every planet looks and acts like the world of Bladerunner? Such a disappointing end to what was the biggest franchise of all. They need to call Lucas up and bring him on in some capacity.

2023-05-04 19:20:55 +0000 UTCMay 4th is a fake, Disney Star Wars Day. The real Star Wars day is May 25th, the day the original "Star Wars" movie was released.
