EARLY ACCESS - Wink of an Eye: Fast-Paced Fun or Confusing Chaos? (Star Trek S3E11)

I think it's about the most underrated episode as some or many people seem to hate this episode. I've watched the original Star Trek since before I can even remember. I watched it when my big brother watched it. I loved it, but I was way too young to understand much of it. However, Star Trek was not on all the time. I think most of time it would only be shown once a week. About every 3 years I would sort of get to binge watch it when some local station would purchase the rights to air it. Every three years or so I would get a chance to watch Star Trek again, and I would understand more and more about Star Trek. I think when I was about 12 a local station decided to run it daily instead of weekly. At some point when I got to watch all the episodes including some episodes that I might have missed somehow this episode really stood out to me, and I discovered the episode when I was watching it by myself. I thought the episode was extremely creative. It was always one of my personal favorites. Memory-alpha.fandom.com indicates that the idea is from an H.G. Wells short story or an animated Lone Ranger episode. The idea was great. The love story stuff and other episode stuff did not seem too important though.

The machine on the Enterprise was going to put the crew into hibernation so the Scalosians would have others to thaw out and use for breeding stock. Next week, the Big Three each demonstrate they are willing to die to save the other two.

I haven’t watched this episode in a long time, although I’ve always enjoyed it, especially Kathy Brown. Watching it again with you both really loved it. It’s been fun re-discovering some of these more obscure episodes with you guys. Your opinions and tags are always so interesting, challenging, and intelligent. So refreshing always.
