PATREON EXCLUSIVE UNCUT REACTION - Enemy Mine (1985) - Our Favorite Movies #3

Here is our full uncut reaction to Enemy Mine (1985)

We have actually only seen this movie once before, and it was over a decade ago, but we discovered it together while we were in high school, so it has always held a special place for us. We decided to revisit it together over a decade later for this series and for you all here on Patreon!

This video kept getting blocked on YouTube (I am guessing because you can hear the movie in the background), so we are trying the video uploading native to Patreon. Never used it before so if you have any feedback on if you like this better or worse, let us know!

Thank you for being a Patron & enjoy!

PATREON EXCLUSIVE UNCUT REACTION - Enemy Mine (1985) - Our Favorite Movies #3

Shout out to whoever was in charge of choosing WTTG's Saturday afternoon matinee in the mid to late 80s, before it became Fox, and stocked it full of incredible science fiction and fantasy movies of the 70s and 80s. As soon as cartoons ended, I switched over to the movie of the week, and Enemy Mine was a staple, alongside another great Wolfgang Petersen film, The Neverending Story. I showed both to my friends when Petersen died. Those who hadn't seen it before thought Neverending Story was all right. But Enemy Mine? They started out making fun of it, but by the end they were *sobbing*. Just an absolute masterpiece of a film.

Woow blast from the past finally watching this uncut reaction in 2024 and hearing the old Target Audience slogan again on a video I haven't seen yet. This content IS made for me! Great movie. Actually one of the earliest movies I can remember watching. Pretty scary at the time. Great effects. Both Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr give incredible performances. Zammis is great too. I'm gonna disagree that it needed shortening. Like you said, there was a lot to get in there to believably build two relationships. Rest In Peace Louis Gossett Jr

Quaid's co-pilot who died in the beginning was played by Lance Kerwin. He was sort of a big deal in the 1970s with tons of roles as a kid/teen actor. This was his last job in a big budget movie. Sadly, he passed away just a couple of weeks before this video was posted.

John King

Interestingly, Dennis Quaid's SON, Jack Quaid (Meg Ryan is his mother), portrays Bradward ("Brad") BOIMLER in Star Trek: Lower Decks, one of the new 'Trek shows. Last week, a live-action episode of ST: Strange New Worlds (titled "Those Old Scientists" - taken from "TOS" title for The Original Series) - with Jack Quaid making an appearance of his Lower Decks character IN LIVE ACTION FORM. I for one am hoping they'll bring Dennis and Meg on Lower Decks as Brad's parents...... wouldn't THAT be a hoot!

Have definitely heard about Soylent Green a few times

Josh (Target Audience)

If you like 70s sci fi Rollerball physical stunts and sets and set up are amazing. Omega Man, Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes are the Charlton Heston trifecta of 70s sci fi. Cheers

Its a shame YT blocked your video. Thats probably why there are no reactions to this hidden gem. Thanks for doing the reaction. Lou Gossetts best performance is 1982 Officer and a Gentleman he won the oscar for best supporting actor. Its a great film worth a reaction. He also did Iron Eagle a fan favorite action film. Enemy Mine suffered from poor marketing. Fun fact allegedly a studio executive after viewing an early version told the film makers great movie wheres the mine? So they went back and added the miners etc. Anyway its a fun story. Wolfgang Peterson is best known for Never Ending Story and the classic Das Boot.

Will definitely watch this reaction at some point. I need to find the movies and get some time to enjoy this, but I definitely will eventually :) I remember the movie fondly :)
