2023-01-20 19:07:40 +0000 UTCThe season 6 finale should be studied in screenwriting courses for exactly what not to do, and by the end of the season 7 premiere the audience was dropping. Then their pride prevented them from a course correction so they double downed on the very thing and person driving their audience away.

2023-01-19 21:05:21 +0000 UTCYeah, the midseason finale in season 6 is basically where it should have ended. Seasons 7 and 8 are one season's worth of material stretched into two, and subsequent seasons never really recovered from the rut that formed there. But those first 5 1/2 seasons are gold. Edit: So I guess what I really mean is seasons 7 and 8 should have just been season 7, and that should have been the end. But since that hypothetical tightened season 7 doesn't exist, midway through season 6 is my stopping point on rewatches.

2023-01-18 20:10:25 +0000 UTCFirst five and a half seasons it was one of the best shows on tv with one of my all time favorite characters (Carol), and then it became garbage with a 1-2 punch of a dumb fakeout episode and then the introduction of a character that just ruined the show, and the needless elimination of a character that the show never recovered from. They did not realize that what works in the comics often does not work for tv, and their audience collapse was all of their own making.

At the time I lost someone very dear to me, so since the theme was heavy with dealing with loss, it got too much for me. Then as I would peek in to see how it was, it kinda became the same themes with different situations. However that being said, Season One and Two were still great, in my opinion, and I hope you'll enjoy it
