Those crazy eyes were even more on display in Dagger of the Mind. He was good at portraying characters that were a little "off". He did a bit of guest starring in 60s westerns.

Parallel development is an idea, discovering intelligent life is a common occurrence — but to find an Identical Planet Earth in our own universe like in Miri? How does it happen? Somebody would be studying that long after the Enterprise had flown on.

2022-11-27 00:28:24 +0000 UTCThere was a dubious theory about "parallel Earths" in the 60s (maybe it was just pseudo-science, who knows?) that Star Trek dipped into at least 3 or 4 times. It's convenient for set building and costumes, but it's pretty silly, and I'm glad later Star Trek abandoned the concept altogether.

2022-11-25 01:08:45 +0000 UTCThis was one of three scripts considered for the second pilot after The Cage was rejected. The others were the accepted Where No Man Has Gone Before and Mudd's Women. I think they chose the right one. This is not one of my favorites, either. It may have been OK without the hit-everyone-over-the-head-with-a-message last 15 minutes. Shatner, btw, is Canadian.
