Corporate Development Memo (10/22/2023)

Hi everyone!

Just updating another week on Episode 8!

I started putting together some music for prior scenes for the first time this week, and doing a few playthroughs and making some notes on changes/edits for later.  It was a good time for me to do this for getting a proper feel for pacing and dialogue, etc.

I have a gigantic presentation/pitch with a huge client on October 27th, so I'm a bit more busy than normal with my primary 9-5 business.  But things are still pretty smooth overall, and I'm kind of readying myself for a hard sprint soon...just need to get past I think Halloween.

I am at 1,645 renders and generally feeling good about trying to hit 2,000 renders in the near future.  I feel like hitting that point will be a catalyst for me to sprint towards the end.  My main worry about Episode 8 versus prior ones is how the saves will work from Episode 7 to 8 because of the unusual nature of a new "game" so to speak (smaller download for Episode 8 as a stand alone).  It's also a bit harder for me to test all playthroughs because I am having to delete and resave the final eight slots (I am preparing for this soon) from Episode 7 for a lot of testing.  So this is actually my main worry more than any other thing for Episode 8.  And of course I'm really relieved I have basically now recovered my files, etc.

Anyway, I've got to work probably most of today on this presentation, but I still plan to work on a scene tonight too, so just keeping busy!

I'm also on a couple of nice Itch game bundles with some nice devs that approached me and I've found a few of them to be really awesome people!  Maybe one or more of these games appeal to you, but I really want to specifically help a few of them I have come to like as people.  (one of these games too I believe has the potential to get very big later in terms of financial metrics)
