Callorhin Reference

Callorhin, “Cal”, another of my BG3 OCs, whom I fucking love ❤️ He's chaotic on a very different level from Jacks. Jacks is this fiery-eyed criminal with holy powers eagerly entering the fray, while Cal is probably playing the lute quietly in a ditch somewhere to boost a "sad" flower's morale.

Cal's a wandering Druid (and Bard) in that he’s just extremely unambitious. He’s a very very chill dude, and has no goals whatsoever (outside of: sleep, screw other druids, and play the lute). Out of the three he SEEMS the nicest (the others being Jackal and Selakiir), but he doesn’t really CARE that much about anything… But not even in a heartless way, just like in a... "he's not really paying attention" kind of way. The only time he’s truly upset is if someone’s harming nature (he especially likes plants, particularly trees), or being especially violent/disgusting for no good reason (eg Orin, or even like Kagha’s druids trying to force the tielfing refugees out, he hates that shit. If you have the MEANS to help someone and you’re actively putting them in danger instead, that will piss him off). Most of the time he's just quietly doing his own thing, doesn't really talk a lot, or is playing the lute quietly to some ferns, or trying to fix the broken stem on a sunflower or something. That said he IS a very good naturalist, has good healing spells, tracking, can speak to animals, and wild shape, which is all very useful. So long as someone’s guiding him and sort of telling him what to do, he’s useful to the party. (I've also been looking into actual DND gameplay and spells to change him up and make him a more plant-based druid or something... "Speak to plants" would be very much his alley).

He's also Half-Drow but doesn't look it, so very few people would even know. He never talks about his past, its assumed nothing exciting probably happened (much like the rest of his life lol), or it DID but he'd make it seem like the most boring event in history.

As far as actual gameplay goes, it’s a much harder run playing Cal compared to Jacks lol. Being a Druid/Bard is pretty rough in combat situations. He just uses the Bard to a) distract someone to the rest of the party can rob them, or b) cast Bardic Inspiration on Jackal. And maybe earn a little bit of coin as well. And in every cutscene he either looks bored or is smiling but clearly has no idea what's going on, and I love it. Its also a fun time accidentally getting into a fight with an angry owlbear and it cuts to you and you're a tiny cat (and rolled a natural 1 for animal handling somehow).
