Agreed with you to an extent, yea. I think the writers this season attempted to tone down the impact of Hannah’s bad deeds last season, but it creates a sort of clash between S7 Hannah and S8 Hannah, they act differently in a way that’s not super natural. I love S8 Hannah but it’s like they’re trying to do a “soft retcon” of what she did in S7, which is what leads to Deb being too quick to get over it.

2025-04-15 09:14:14 +0000 UTCIt's for this reason exactly why in the end of the previous season i thought that the writers dropped the ball with having Hannah poison Deb. I mean they already knew that Hannah would be endgame-romance (they had decided that early on when conceiving of Hannah's character), and they knew that they would have to have Deb be ok with it at some point, so it would have made more sense to not have her poison Deb. Now at this episode i'm having more of a hard time believing Deb would just let it go. I mean granted Deb has changed significantly since last season, it still doesn't feel normal, her being ok with the person who poisoned her. Anyway, great reaction guys to a great episode. Too bad for Zach he was a good comedic relief in this episode and he had potential, but they wanted to move the story along, which i don't begrudge them.

I always found Hannah to be quite a fascinating character, and she and Dexter have wonderful chemistry together. I’m only sorry we’re getting so close to the end of this amazing show now. It’s been such fun rewatching this with Rob and Trin’s reactions. ♥️🩸♥️

2025-04-14 23:50:16 +0000 UTCI freaking adore this episode. It is insanely entertaining. It really sold Zach as a character to me. His comedic timing was perfect, and I’m glad he was innocent. A perfect twist, especially with the blood under Cassie’s nails. Real shame about the ending. I am glad that the writers didn’t drag the Deb vs Hannah thing. We had enough of it last season, it was smart to close that. As I said in last week’s reaction, they really made Hannah more tolerable this season and I think that’s why her relationship with Dexter works better. I could see even Trin was more on board with it, nice! And the dinner scene. To me, one of the most iconic scenes in the show. It’s one of those scenes that immediately come up on my mind when I think about this season. Phenomenal! Great reaction, can’t wait for more!
