I agree. I think Dexter comes across as likable and relatable (as weird as that sounds). But I never consider him a hero. For example... I love that he saved Deb and everyone from the lethal gas. BUT... they wouldn't have needed saving... nor would Holly Benson have been killed... if he wasn't constantly undermining and misdirecting the investigation(s) for his own purposes. If just let his team uncover the info, or secretly helped them discover the info... so much could be avoided. But I guess then it wouldn't last 12 episodes.

2025-02-13 10:22:34 +0000 UTCSeriously though the more I see of harry the darker he seems to get. Like this man treated Dexter like he was a science experiment instead of an actual child who needed help. Did he ever try getting him into therapy or doing something constructive

2025-02-11 15:42:04 +0000 UTCI agree. Harry could have tried to get some help for him but instead he just trained him, tought him how to lie - and then had a hard time accepting him. We will never know if Dex could have had a different life but it definitely didn't help.

2025-02-11 15:14:22 +0000 UTCWe all know that Dex is supposedly a bad person but I was always rooting for him until then. In rewatch it's clearer to me as to why. Seeing Deb's reaction is hurtful because she is such a good person and she has been through so much. Dexter's innability to understand that "normal' people can't get over a killing in few hours reminded me that he is not a person to root for. That's why this show is so good. It makes you question your own judgement.

He was in Martinez's group that took in the Governor, Tara and co. and was then killed and left as a walker in the lake for the Gov. to look at. He was also a regular in Dollhouse (the Eliza Dushku series from years back) if you watched that.

2025-02-11 10:59:06 +0000 UTCThis was incredible I love that Deb knows. She is such a great person even after everything she still is honest and wants to talk to her brother. I feel so horrible for her but now at least it’s all out. That scene at the end with him confessing actually gave me chills I’m sad about Mike I really liked him a lot. Dexter is getting extremely messy that airport capture and kill had so much wrong with it there could be cameras, witnesses,DNA on the straps or ground. I think Harry was a big reason Dexter actually became a serial killer that guy said some fucked up things to him. THE BAY HARBOR BUTCHER!!!

In season 4, when Lundy reamerged at the bathtub crime scenes, we see it through the blood slide that Dexter had just taken of the 30 year old crime scene. Ticks me off every time I watch this!
