I think the 'Deb has suppressed romantic feelings for Dexter' development was unnecessary. And it seems an especially odd choice by the writers... to pull the Deb / Dex card after the actors were divorced in real life. (There's obviously great chemistry there, hence them getting together early on.) Good thing they still had a solid relationship afterwards... because how awkward.

I love it when he keeps mocking Travis, who is so far off the reality that he believed he actually was on God's side, even after all his murders. And comparing him to Trinity, who embraced his fate while on the table and even teased Dexter, knowing what he's done to Rita and his revenge was actually completed, there is a huge difference in my opinion. I didn't like too much the psychiatrist, who maneuvred somehow Deb to think more about loving Dexter, even though he never manifested those kinds of feelings for her (though I read it somewhere that Jennifer Carpenter always played Deb with that kind of love in the back of her mind ). And I always thought of Dexter's proper ending as either him getting caught ( which was the showrunner's original plan for the show ), or someone close to him finding out ( one of their team, maybe Deb, realising he is a serial killer ).

2025-02-04 17:31:26 +0000 UTCi personally don't care cuz either way its fiction but i THINK it's because (whether Deb & Dexter are blood related or not) we had the majority of 6 seasons with them as strictly brother & sister whereas with Jaime and Cersei you are introduced to them like that. Dexter also takes place during modern times, so it's even MORE taboo now than it would've been for the Lannisters whose entire world knew of how the Targaryens get down...

But Dex my bro, why did you have to keep talking and talking...just stab the jerk and get it over with! One thing that puzzles me though: why did Deb go to the church? Unless I missed an earlier line or two of dialogue as to the reason, it feels kind of sudden and contrived. I guess going there sort of makes sense because it's a known hideout of DDK, but even then why alone?

I don't quite remember how I felt when this episode originally aired, but I know the wait was painful lol thankfully yall only have to wait a week. LOVE LOVE LOVE season 7. it has a couple of my absolute FAVORITE characters in the upcoming season out of the entire series. I'm talking prob in my personal top 5 so i'm eager to see what yall think of them/s7 as a whole.
