2024-11-02 10:17:22 +0000 UTCExactly. I really enjoyed 5 & 6 also. (5 more so.) But they were basically following the exact framework of 1 & 2... which is why they work so well. But I was just never overly invested in the new group. With #7 returning to the legacy of Kevin Williamson & Neve (finally getting paid her due)... I have high hopes. Just better not break my heart... or it could be my villain origin story. (Oh no, I'm Ritchie!)

2024-11-02 06:28:23 +0000 UTCKirby was a fan favorite from Scream 4. Many hoped that she survived because we saw her stabbed near the end, and left for dead, but never actually saw her die-die. There was an easter egg in previous movie #5... her name can be seen in the contacts on Dewey's phone... verifying that she did indeed survive.

She and Margot Robbie are often mixed up for each other. Samara Weaving starred in 'Ready or Not'... which was directed by the guys directing this movie (and Scream 5). They got the Scream gig because Ready or Not was so well received. You would have a blast with 'Ready or Not'!

2024-11-02 04:32:55 +0000 UTCPersonally, while I enjoy this one... particularly all the nods to the previous movies... it's still not quite Scream without Sidney. Just like how #5 emulated the original Scream... #6 emulated Scream 2. It takes place at College... ends on a Theater stage... and more that I won't say in regards to the killer(s), in case someone hasn't watched yet. For me, Scream *is* Sidney, Gale, and Dewey. So I felt the most impactful scene was Gale saying 'Tell Sidney that he didn't get me'. Also really great to have Kirby back... but I think she could've been written better. And having seen plenty of these movies... the killer(s) were very easy to guess. I knew at 25 minutes in, from one line that tips off the relationship & motive. Trin clocked it, too. But more than that, they just weren't dynamic enough. Like bland crazy instead shockingly crazy. Looking forward to #7 though. As long as they don't kill off Sidney.

2024-11-02 00:48:34 +0000 UTCThey always say to disregard the height. Because Ghostface is somewhat preternatural in essence... so the true heights blur when the killers don the persona. (That's what you have to accept... because to be accurate would limit the suspect pool.)
