Daredevil S1E1+2 Into the Ring - Cut Man

Comments

One step at a time.

Aldo Gonzales

and right after this serie the punisher? :D :D :D

Philipp Schell

They haven't watched it yet. I suggest it every time. I know that they will be absolutely I tigued by Ozark.

Lovaire Hawkins

I recognized him right away here but it didn’t strike me when I watched Ozark. What a show! I don’t know if Rob & Trin watched it already but (if not) they would love it!

Kamanda Hickey

Absolutely love this show and super excited to watch along with you 🙏🏾

Kamanda Hickey

omg yes my dreams have come true, this is one of my favorites, and everything is better with you two reacting so its going to be amazing

Sand Man

I’d guess most guys are. 😅 Not the best actor though. FC on the other hand is awesome.

Jan T

SOOOO excited for you guys to start this! Honestly I think I you guys will really like ALL the Netflix Marvel stuff and I hope you watch ALL of it (I know and understand all the complaints I’ll get but 1: I think a lot of it works really well with the context of everything that comes before, and 2: let’s be honest, the lowest points are still as good as the lowest points some of the other stuff they’ve watched and they enjoyed them enough overall to get through it).

Simon Williams

Side bar, ...... the actor who plays young Matt Murdock is also in a PHENOMENAL show that you've already been told anout....OZARK!!! And he's 20 times beter in Ozark than he is in this show.

Lovaire Hawkins

OH ABSOLUTELY!!! I love that youre doing this show!!!

Lovaire Hawkins

im probably partial to the guest character lol. always have been.

Phil Tilly

Personally I think Season 1 is more consistently good. I have mixed feelings about season 2. It has the introduction of my favourite Daredevil guest character, and my least favourite character. I’m still looking forward to Rob and Trin’s reactions to it.

Jan T

i think Daredevil is one of the few shows out there with a great first season and then hits with an even better second season. No spoilers for season 2, but it has some of the best dialogue of any Marvel show/movie ever.

Phil Tilly

Yeah, it's like getting the baseline heartbeat first and then listening after asking the questions, kinda like a polygraph detects the changes from a baseline.

Thadman

So excited to watch this woth you two, I think you will live all 3 seasons, and even gravitate towards another show at some point.....EVERYONE LETS KEEP SPOILERS AWAY.

Mike Rizzo

I'm not sure if it's been said in the comments yet but although Charlie Cox who plays Daredevil does have a stunt double for some of the fighting part's he also does a lot of the fight scenes himself

Kai

All Netflix/Marvel shows are pretty fire, the vibes are pretty similar. I'm so hype for this.

Dexifae

Been waiting for this for a while and it did not disappoint. <3

Grif Kane

I haven't seen this series yet, but Rob kept mentioning how Matt afforded law school. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some scholarship fund for the visually impaired wherever he went to school.

Sean, aka Turd Ferguson

That's fair

Rigs216

He detects the changes in heartbeats when a lie is told, so if a heart is already going fast because of the adrenaline, he would pick up on any fluctuations when a lie is told. Not just about it beating fast

Harry Atkinson

First two episodes of this show are some of the best television, ever. The storytelling. The camera work. The choreography. Chef's kiss.

Bluhawke

This show is sooooo good! The vibe, esthetics, the coreo, the characters, the lore... I am just so happy we're finally here

FedeM

oh finally! YES! YES!

Dexifae

Foggy was also in Mighty 1998, one of my favorite comedy dramas.

Jenny Lee Villanueva

Marvel never considered that hearing heartbeats isn't the best way to tell a person is lying. That's daredevils whole thing and why he's a good lawyer. But if I have info that got someone killed and me framed and I'm sitting in an interrogation room with 2 men I don't know, my heart is beating a mile a second truth or no

Rigs216

So, so happy to rewatch Daredevil with you guys! It was fun watching your reactions to the first two episodes, and I’m glad you enjoyed them. Looking forward to next week!

Christine

LFG!!

blorgins

That hallway fighting scene is legend, they actually paid a bit of homage to it in She-hulk(best part of the show) if you remember. Please do the Netflix shows in order, it's worth it, also there is an order to how the characters are supposed to be introduced. I'm glad you liked it.

Deathhead

Well, there might be one character and I don't think you're going to be disapointed :)

Deathhead

Yeah, they said that everything Netflix is cannon now, so part of the MCU and as far as I know most actors if not all said they would be glad to come back, especially Jessica Johnes(Won't spoil the actress for those who haven't seen it yet).

Deathhead

😂

Thadman

Pretty sure that it is now integrated fully, even though the characterization of Fisk and DD are a little different in No Way Home, Echo and She-Hulk. Disney+ has the new show Daredevil Born Again series coming out which brings back the core Netflix DD cast and Jon Berenthal's Punisher I think. The other Marvel TV shows like Agents of Shield, Runaways, etc are all still not a part of the core MCU though.

James W.

Holy crap that's rad, I didn't know Wes was in the Hunger Games in any fashion. Pre-Expanse I just know him from "In the Valley of Elah" with Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. Good movie if you haven't seen it. That movie has a stacked cast overall.

James W.

I love this show and this cast, there is a reason Marvel eventually reabsorbed these into the core MCU continuity after Netflix's contract was up. Too good to let them just fade away. Debbie Ann Woll (Karen) and Elden Henson (Foggy) are such a great pairing in these episodes. There is so much going on besides just the cute flirting, which can feel a little forced but didn't come off as contrived for me. I would have a crush on her immediately too. I buy their scene going to get hammered and forget their problems as much as Matt walking down a hallway demolishing Russian mobsters. That hallway scene is still one of the best choreographed fight scenes ever. It is criminal that stunt work only just started being recognized as award-worthy. Rosario Dawson (Claire) is pure gold in ep2, I don't expect subtle actiing in most shows, let alone a superhero TV show, but she is so damned good. Also, good lord she is gorgeous. Foggy isn't wrong about Matt. Homie is a heat seeking missle for complicated beauties. Batman Begins came first but the stories for both this version of Daredevil, and for the Nolan Batman are very much steeped in comic runs that were both written by Frank Miller back in the 80/90s. I think the success of Batman Begins gave these show runners confidence to pitch this type of DD story to Disney/Marvel. This was all way pre-Disney+ so I think that is why it went to Netfli. Netflix could do more mature content that Disney was still gun-shy about having associated with the "Disney" brand. Now Disney seems 100% onboard with going tonally darker or even extreme like Deadpool and Logan. "Batman: Year One" by Frank Miller and Dave Mazzuchelli inspired much of the modern origins of Bruce as shown in Batman Begins. This show has elements from all of over the DD run but the ones I think represented most strongly are the mid-80s run of Daredevil by Frank MIller and Klaus Janson coupled with the mid-90s mini-series "Daredevil: Man WIthout Fear" by Miller and Jon Romita Jr. I was collecting comics back then so I have vivid memories of when these books came out, I still have them, I think I even got them signed. Worth picking up graphic novels of if you have the inclination but I feel like they would spoil the show. Frank Miller was on a run in this period, putting out bangers. Now I feel like he is more known for The Dark Knight Returns, 300, and Sin City but his runs kind of define the modern version of both characters. Viscous neo-noir.

James W.

OMG IM EXCITED

Titan99snpr 1

Yeah basically at it’s conception for Netflix marvel the MCU was canon but the shows weren’t canon to the MCU until recently

Cynthia

We are finally here it feels like so long ago that people first told you to watch this. This is my first time watching any of the “Netflix marvel” I’m also loving the vibe and the characters. I’m pretty excited to see if we run into any familiar characters. Looking forward to next week

James

I mean it was never intended to be in the MCU, it was separate. I think technically they were changed to canon fairly recently, but didn’t start that way. Long winded answer for saying yes, I believe you are correct hahaha

Ray H

forking love this

Anthony Hempstead

I thought, when they announced "Daredevil: Born Again," that they confirmed that they are all in the same universe.

Thadman

And the other camera man was Wes Chatham (Amos from The Expanse).

Michael Celia

There's so much to love about these first two episodes, from the cinematography to the fight choreography to the music underscore. But two moments scream out at me: Matt Murdock's first scene in the confessional booth where Charlie Cox hits that monologue out of the park - what a way to introduce the character...and of course the final hallway fight sequence done in a single shot (btw, it's a combo of Cox and a stunt double - they swap when Murdoch "falls" through a doorway and off screen).

Michael Celia

Yay! 🥳 I love this series. ♥️ The characters have real depth, and complexity. And while I usually get a bit bored with too many fight scenes, the choreography here is just so impressive, with real consequences for Matt. So many shows just have razzle dazzle stunts and an easy win for the hero. What a great couple of days to start the week. Daredevil, then Dexter!

Jan T

His partner was in the Hunger Games, one of the camera men that couldn't speak.

Jenny Lee Villanueva

I love AoS so so much

Emmy

🤘So Hyped

Steven K

So excited for this one!!!

Paola Villegas

Daredevil on Sundays and Dexter on Monday? I'm very much ok with that.

Farva

Fuck yes! Proud of you guys. Just remember the Defenders/Netflix marvel is separate from the MCU, but is related. When characters bring up “the incident”, they are referring to the events of the first Avengers movie. I’m gonna watch now.

Ray H

I was waiting so hard

Dude

I’ve been summoned

Noah Welch

tonight's the night

Mitch

When this show dropped on Netflix, I believe this was one of the first to have audio description. The guy who does the voice for it would eventually go on to voice some X-Men movies like Logan and some more recent Marvel Studios shows like Falcon & Winter Soldier and Hawkeye. Now for the record, you guys ARE NOT obligated to watch all of Marvel Netflix. Either way, I really hope you eventually check out Agents of SHIELD. Without our agents, we wouldn’t even have Daredevil.

Aldo Gonzales

Yasssss I’m excited for you guys to watch this show all the way through! 😀

JustJordan

Let’s go! 🤩

Yessss! I’ve been refreshing Patreon all day for this!
