The Expanse S2E12+13 The Monster and the Rocket - Caliban's War

Season 2 and 3 are just so freaking good. Multiple outstanding scenes in every single episode and, as Rob said, it feels like the show is giving us exactly what we want. Can’t see that anyone has mentioned the significance of Bobbie guzzling the cucumber sandwiches yet, so I will do the honours: cucumbers need far more water to grow than most vegetables and have very low nutritional value, so they are unlikely to be grown on Mars, where resources are so carefully hoarded and water is a precious commodity. So for Bobbie cucumber sandwiches would be a rare delicacy and you’d better believe she will shove them in her face while she can!

If no one else has already chimed in, the first couple story arcs don't quite complete at the typical season finale. They go halfway into the second season and then a new arc starts that goes halfway into season 3. Then the remainder season 3 is like 6 episode arc. Season 4 is a fairly discreet story arc but introduces plot lines that run through season 5 and 6.

Any “Mythbusters” fans here? Adam Savage, a HUGE fan of the show, had a nice big cameo in this episode. He’s working on the Venus ship - and he’s in three scenes. In two scenes he has some brief dialogue, and after the ship explodes, he is the first person to be seen floating past the camera on the left side of the shot. 😉

Beware The Jabberwock

I am so thrilled at how into this show Rob and Trin have become. Recalling how confusing the first few episodes were, it’s so much fun to see Rob invested enough to full on fist pump Bobbie’s embassy sprint. Plus, Trin’s joyful giggles make my day. ❤️ So glad that you both love Chrisjen. The actress and her character are AMAZING. According to a podcast hosted by one of the book/show writers and the actor who plays Amos. In the “real world” Shohreh Aghdasloo, (Chrisjen) is NOTHING like her character. They describe her as humble, crazy nice, even a bit quiet and shy at times — and she never curses! 😂 LOL! They mention many times, in their podcast, how much fun it is to watch how she changes so drastically when she “becomes” Chrisjen. 🥰 I liked Bobbie from her first introduction episodes, but these last four episodes made me LOVE her! The way Chrisjen looks at her when she holds her hand out to her after saving them, is beautiful and so emotional. *chef’s kiss.* Lastly — a totally random “real life” TWD/Expanse connection trivia:.(Going to talk in code a bit.) The actress that Daryl meets in later seasons — *the one who owned a Dog.* She was married to Steven Strait (Holden) for six years. They are now divorced, but I think it’s an interesting “connection” between actors from two shows we love. 😉

Beware The Jabberwock

First episode was really good but I cannot for the life of me feel emotional for Naomi. I don’t know if it’s because the actress just isn’t good at doing emotional scenes or if it’s supposed to be read like that. Like she knew opening that door could kill literally everyone including who she’s trying to save but she does it anyway also knocking out Amos (extra muscle in case of a fight) and then she almost dies once it’s open. It’s a miracle it actually worked out as well as it did. On an unrelated note the design of that alien thing looks very cool the way it moves is creepy

I want the Cotyar-Bobbie buddy cop spin-off co-starring Avasarala as the foul-mouthed superior who gives them their assignment...and attitude... And we finally got a shirtless Amos ;)

The Fandom commonly referred to that heart wrenching scene as "scene 52". Never fails to pull a tear or two out of me
