Really? I've seen many folks related to that culture saying how accurate it is & folks also involved in the movie. They also did the dubbed version in their language.

2024-10-18 15:14:29 +0000 UTCAmber Midthunder I first saw on the show "Legion" which was an FX show that was an offshoot of The X-Men universe. It's very odd, but you guys might really like it. I didn't finish the last season, but it was based off of comic book characters. I need to get back to it and finish it. The Alien movies, I feel, are generally better quality than most of the Predator movies, but are usually hit or miss based on what you're looking for in those types of movies. I tend to like all of them, but since they're different, I like them for different reasons and to different degrees. I tend to like it, over all, for the interesting lore, but a lot of people only want to see the Xenomorph, which is why many of them didn't like Prometheus and Covenant. I liked them quite a bit. Prometheus more than Covenant, but Covenant isn't bad at all. I heard there was supposed to be a third installation in that prequel trilogy, but that's been put on hold. I am very curious to see where the story goes. I really liked "Alien: Romulus" also and hope there's a sequel to that, but I suppose it's fine if there isn't one. It's not necessary story-wise It takes place between Alien and Aliens, time-wise. Prometheus and Covenant are prequels to "Alien." The Predator movies, I feel, are more fun than horror and bring a bit of that to the Alien franchise with the AvP stuff. I haven't seen "The Predator" 'cause I didn't hear anything good about it, but I've seen all the other Alien and Predator movies and the only one I didn't really like at all was "Alien vs Predator: Requiem." I liked the first AvP movie better.

2024-09-04 12:03:11 +0000 UTCHeh, the Predator was not being a "bully," but was observing what other predators were on this planet and was going for them. The snake turned out to be easy, so it looked for bigger prey. Hence, the wolf. Still too easy, then the bear and so forth. If he'd thought he was killing the biggest prey with the snake or wolf, he would've left. He was looking for more of a challenge. I don't think he would've even killed those buffalo since they aren't predators and if he did go after them, it would've been just one and he would've taken the skull. You could tell men killed the buffalo 'cause she found a cigar next to the corpse. The Predator always watches to see which "animal" is the most dangerous and then go after that. After the bear, when her tribesmen came to get her and take her home, It was not waiting to fight the girl, it followed her and was observing all of them and they beat her and tied her up and they had weapons (spears and bows) so it perceived the other guys in her tribe as the stronger prey. She ended up being the smarter prey/predator. It doesn't go after someone it doesn't perceive as a threat or dangerous. It's also why it let her go when she got caught in the trap. No fun in that. I didn't read a lot of comics with them, but I do know that they hunt as a status in their society, so there's no glory or rewards given to hunting weak prey. We also saw in the 2nd Predator movie that it skipped over a pregnant woman, even though she was a cop and perceived as a warrior.

2024-09-03 15:18:56 +0000 UTCIf you've seen Predator 2, Rob, then you've already seen a crossover of the two franchises since there was an Alien/Xenomorph skull on the wall of trophies of the Predator ship, near the end of the movie. That's what got nerds like me excited that they might crossover. I think they did in comics first, which were pretty cool. Eventually, they got to the AvP movies and then video games.

It was really clear to anyone that has knowledge in those areas that those involved with this project knew little about it. I know it isn't the point, but I was too busy screaming at the movie about how inaccurate it was to really enjoy it.

The acting and scenery were both phenomenal while I do wish they made the actors speak the appropriate language instead of English I understand why they did it the way they did.

2024-09-01 15:09:50 +0000 UTC@Rob & Trin. For the Alien franchise, I myself really really enjoyed how Prometheus and Covenant were done. My favorite is Prometheus! I found them both great! I never follow what the critics or rotten tomatoes says about a movie or other people, as it's subjective, to each their own. 😚 But in my opinion Prom has been a rewatchable movie for me. Michael Fassbender, enough said, lol. Oh and Charlize Theron I do hope you give them a watch before Romulous.

Angers me so freaking much! the near-extinction of the American bison was a deliberate plan by the US Army to starve Native Americans into submission. One colonel told a hunter who felt guilty shooting 30 bulls in one trip, "Kill every buffalo you can! Every buffalo dead is an Indian gone.”

There used to be around 60 million bison roaming the Americas, by the 1890s there were less than one thousand remaining. The fur traders would kill the bison and only take their furs, leaving the rest to rot. The plains bison would roam vast territories in the tens of thousands and they would not flee when other bison were shot and dropped dead beside them. That is how they were able to kill them in absurd numbers. They were almost completely eradicated in less than a century...
