The School of Rock is an actual organization across the US I went to one location from 8th grade till i graduated highschool. basically you do a one hour music lesson a week then they have a performance program where for 3 months once a week for 3 hours you get together with other kids in the program under a director. you get assigned songs normally 3-5 (or more depending on number of students in that show) and at the end of 3 months you play at a local venue i've played a lot of places through the program my favorite being the rock and roll hall of fame. and i'm still playing shows but my own music and by myself
