Novelizations based on the films of the Alien franchise have been a celebrated addition to the fandom since Alan Dean Foster wrote the first novel for Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror masterpiece back in 1979. Each film in the franchise has received official novelizations. Conspicuously, Ridley Scott's 2012 return to the franchise Prometheus only received a Japanese novelization and has been requested for English translation ever since.
